Course is CLOSED for 2017
Course is down to seven holes (housing development) and play has been suspended for the year or until further notice.
Not bad for a quick 9
Overall - OK
Carts are gas - loud and unresponsive
Course is somewhat tight - lots of trees, very pretty.
Grounds were well taken care of, but that might be due to 1/3 of the course being roped off, as in NO Carts.
Lots of construction going on - new homes, very sloppy looking outside of the course
Fairways and greens were nice. Some blind shots, a little course knowledge is always helpful. Found it easy enough, but I was hitting it straight that particular day. LOL
For a quick -2 hour round, I was by myself, it was more than do-able. I can imagine it will take longer with a group and more people on the course, but not that day (thank you very much).
Greens rolled pretty true. Could be a touch faster. I found very tricky little breaks that needed a close read.
So, if you have tunnel vision, pretty. If you're looking around, not so much. I heard it was an 18 hole track, making room for home building. It looks like it, but the course itself, not too bad. Have fun.
North Ridge- Always a Challenge
Had a lot of fun. Fairways and greens are in excellent shape. I wish more golfers would fix their divots on the green. The new layout is interesting and provides a challenge on all of the par 4's. Definitely looking forward to playing North Ridge again soon.
Great
Great course, hopefully there is potential to add another nine holes!!
Nice affordable practice
After being cut down from an 18-hole course to a 9-hole course, many people thought that North Ridge was ruined. I must say that this is a nice 9-hole tract good for playing on a weekday evening to keep your skills sharp. Course conditions are excellent. Tee boxes, fairways, greens all in very nice shape. A few sloped fairways make your tee shot placement critical. Very large green on #9 and if they tuck that pin up in the far corner it can be a real challenge. The only criticism I have is that I would make holes #1 and #2 be #8 and #9 and have #3 be #1.
Nice Time, Miss the old course
This was the first time I played the course since the mass destruction. It used to be 18 holes but a large portion of the course has been turned into expensive homes. 3 holes from the old front 9 (1,2, and 9), 5 from the old back (11,12,13,14,15) and then a ridiculous hybrid par 3 made from the old 16th tee and 17th green so the bunkers face the wrong way. The course was in good shape and the staff was great. It was just tough looking at those ugly big houses where a beautiful course used to be.
this course star looking good
i think with the time the golf course will be in very good shape again,i enjoy to play on this course.
Under Construction
Hold off playing here. They are now only a 9 hole course with the rest of the area having high end houses being built. While some of the holes are ok, there is reconstruction going on and the course overall is not in the best of shape.
Best 9 Hole Golf Course Around
This course is the PERFECT place for a 9 hole round of golf.
North Ridge GC has been converted from 18 holes to 9 holes as indicated on GolfNow, on Facebook, and on the website. The changes to the actual golf course have been completed for the 2016 season.
The course is in excellent shape from tee to green and in my estimation the greens are in better shape than any public course in the area.
The golf course itself does not have any homes that actually border any of the holes as you are in no danger of hitting any homes.
The street that connects Welch Road to the new homes in the community were being redone today and new asphalt and curbs have been been laid down. When you pull into the property it is no longer a crushed stone road.
If anyone has any questions regarding the condition of the course please feel free to contact PGA Golf Professional John Dipollina directly at 860.628.0879 with any concerns or comments you may have.
I don't think it's fair to allow the course management to write a 5 star "review" of their course!
Under construction
this course is being converted from 18 holes to 9. Houses are being built so the course is being ripped apart. I think until they are completely finished, avoid at all cost.
Thank you for your comment. I feel it is our responsibility to clarify this review as we want to be as transparent as possible during our transition.

what a mess
The first 2 holes are a mess due to massive construction for condos. They should make mention of this or lower their prices. It's a mess and won't be going back.

Undergoing changes
The course is playable and in good shape for this time of year. The holes are different from past years. The 3rd hole used to be the 11th hole. The 8th hole is a par 3 now and the green was moved. Still a good play.
Not what you think.
If you like to play the ball down this is not your course. They take decent care of the course around the club house where you pay. But once you venture out it is a much different story. Hard to find grass off many of the fairways. Around a lot of greens are ruts and bare ground. Geese droppings are very very heavy in a lot of areas. Your shoes and cart wheels will be full so be prepared. Layout had potential before the rip up, if only someone who cared (about golf) bought the course. John the assistant pro does a great job boosting the course anyway possible. If only the owner had the same vision.
Tee to green very nice course; all else is so-so
Course conditions very good (fairways. rough, greens) but tee boxes are rough. Pace of play very slow and the group in front of us refused to let us play through, and there was no ranger to help. Pro Shop is uninviting and minimal and food was average. Price for play this time of year was a bit steep ($45 with cart).
Beautiful Greens Challenging Layout
I've played this course many times, and I was pleasantly surprised that the conditions were so good & the greens were perfect & fast. You have to be safe off the tee box to score since many of the landing areas are targets for your next shot. It is a very fair layout with thoughtful course management being a must. I really enjoyed playing here. Although challenging, novices can play comfortably from the forward tees.
Gem of a course
This course is a gem. too bad it will go to 9 holes next year; although a worker mentioned that they will build 9 new holes in the near future. the greens are in great shape and they are fast. This course is not long; but you need to think each shot. You can't just "grip it & rip it" every time. This course also has character; meaning, its not wide open and you need to hit a good shot. Will play here again.
Oh, I almost forgot that the restaurant food is amazing. Managed by a local caterer who makes great Italian food.
Fun and challenging layout
Not a course you can grip and rip it. A lot of placement shot opportunities to set up second shot for a chance at par.
Nice course
The only problem was that we showed up an hour before tee time - And the Pro/manager did not let us off until 6 foresomes tee'd off. Also, we asked if we could go off the back nine - because nobody made the turn for a half hour..... So, say the least it was over a five hour round - and it certainly didn't have to be. There was only two of us.
webs99,
Unfortunately we were not able to accommodate your request to go off of the 10th hole instead of the 1st hole last Wednesday September 16th at 1pm. We take pride in trying to accommodate all requests from players as long as it doesn't interfere with either the players out on the golf course already, or players that are scheduled play to come later (league play in this instance).
Your request to go off of the back would have interfered with league play later, leaving you and your partner playing the waiting game on the 1st tee for an hour when you made the turn.
We do hope you understand and want to thank you for coming out that day to play. Look forward to seeing you in the future at North Ridge!
Course is in great shape
If you haven't played the course for a while, it's definitely worth a re-visit. The layout may or may not be for you (not terribly long, plenty of blind shots with course knowledge at a premium), but the conditions are excellent.
The greens are slower, but no less true, than those at a place like Wintonbury Hills.
Thank you very much for your kind words. We hope to earn a 5 star rating from you in the future.
