As of 8/24/14 the course is in great shape
Scale: 1-5 (1:very poor 5:excellent)
Tee boxes: 3
The tee boxes were relatively flat for the most part. Some tee boxes were either sloped on one half or crowned. I'd say about half of the tee boxes could use a little repair as well with a handful having quite a bit of divots
Fairways: 4
Fairways were in fantastic shape. Kudos t the staff who maintains them. An occasional hole here and there has some work being done but nothing that impacts your play and is only for the better for the course.
Greens: 4.5
These greens are fantastic. They are aoft yet run and roll very true. They tend to be on the fast side but I enjoy fast greens. They really do a great job on their greens.
Golf carts: 3
Standard ordinary golf carts equipped with GPS which is nice.
Miscellaneous notes:
Hats off to the chef. The breakfast sandwiches were absolutely delicious!!!!! I highly recommend the breakfast sandwiches because the bread roll as fresh and super soft.
The beverage cart girl who was on the course was out there early but not much of our time because we are golfing lunatics and play at 6:30am so I don't expect there to be beverages at that time. The beverage cart girl is VERY nice and is incredibly mindful of the golfers playing. She will not start the cart or leave until she sees you hit as to not distract you or any of your players. She's very welcoming and very pleasant to talk to with a warm smile to match. Keep people like her around!
Never seen course in better shape
was impressed with the course upon my return from at least a year. Not to crazy about the houses going up but if done correctly it should be ok. Adult communities ( condo's ) usually work but family structures so close not sure it will work without damage, free play, or interruption of play. We will see. I hope there is an open mind during corporate discussions in keeping an 18 hole course.
Great Round
Granted it was a Monday at noon, but I'll take a 3 1/2 round any day. The course has a good mix of holes for short and long hitters. It had its challenges, but wasn't overwhelming. My son (80-90) and I (100-110) both enjoyed the course. It was in good shape.
Used to be Pine Valley
Under new management. Sorry to see they sold off part of the land for a housing development. Greens were in very good shape. A few bare patches in the fairway.
nice course
Course is in very good shape. Challenging greens. Need to make good shots on most holes. Very enjoyable 19th hole.
Mediocre at best
Heard decent reports of the course. Was disappointed after playing. Mowing on a Saturday and making us wait was just the start of the disappointment. Pace of play was slow and lagged as well as the overall condition of the course was a disappointment. For the area there are much better courses to play for the money.
Can't Wait to Play Again!
This golf course is night and day from last year.
Superb greens for a public course. Smooth as a baby's bottom. Bunkers look like they were edged recently. Fairways are healthy and lush.
Starter and pro shop guys were great. Restaurant was great as we sat outside on the patio and had a cocktail and a bite to eat.
Bev cart girl was sweet as pie.
Course conditions great
The course conditions were great. Greens were true. A few blind shots but but fun course to play.
still a good course
haven't played here in a couple of years; course in very good shape, greens excellent;; gps on cart was helpful; back nine has some interesting holes that may require local knowledge to play well the first time; this is an excellent course to play for all levels
north ridge
Great course, I will think about going back.
Some very challenging dog legs over water.
Long par threes.
little slow on the front nine, possibly because of some short par 4's
what happened
I just played with a three some. We are 85-90. The course is short. Yet it took over 5 hours to play. They allow people to walk in a pair. Then sent out another pair. Then our threesome. Then. Another pair. Hit a shot wait ten minutes. Course was dried out. Cart path was a joke. And the nail in the coffin, booked it on golf now. Paid the extra $8 bucks for the free gift. No gift. Play Hawks Landing, Southington CC, or Timberlin if your in the area.
Great greens
I played this course in a league many years ago. They have done a lot of work on the course. The greens are the best around.
Play was kind of slow. Over 5 hours to complete the round. Need to move players along.
Great Condition
From the tee boxes to the greens the course was in great condition.
Fairways are in great shape.
Greens are true.
Will play this course again..
Wow an overlooked gem
Wonderful course great greens fairways and bunkers. Natural areas left alone
Well maintained
Greens were fast , fairways great condition, rough was tough. Club house and food were very good.
Great place for high handicappers
One of my favorite courses. Being a high handicapper I find it challenging but not so hard that I find myself in trouble often
I like that most areas along the sides that are lined with trees or plantings they keep the ground below nice and clean , so when the bad shots do happen, you can find your ball easily and play on without slowing down the pace.
this course has large greens
greens in excellent condition. the rough is very high. difficult to find your ball. lost several.
great course
Course has improved a lot since it was "Pine Valley".
I highly recommend it.
Disappointed though that a lot a forest was taken down for the new homes going up.
first visit in 10+ years
the new owners have really spruced this course up!
Greens were nearly perfect.....healthy grass everywhere and meaningful but not penal rough. Course remains narrow one many holes.....the cart paths are dirt and "rutty"......if you are unfamiliar with the layout it can be tricky finding tee #7 and #9.
Upgrades being done
Played this course a few years ago.The rough is punishing , fairways and greens in great shape. Some upgrades have been made to the course but cutting the bottom branches on many of the pines and spruces would speed up play.I enjoyed this course and will play it again.
