Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane
About
Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane is situated in the quiet town of Woodbridge, just 20 minutes from New Haven. Formerly known as Oak Lane County Club, the course was both renamed and renovated when it was acquired by the management team at The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford. Many of the holes were updated but the golf course retained its challenging but playable nature. Though the course is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels, there are still several challenges in store. Numerous strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and towering trees also frame most of the holes. The holes are mostly straightforward with a few tricky doglegs to keep you on your toes. You'll also be confronted with the occasional water hole. Both your accuracy and short-game skills will be tested at Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane.

Love the course
Really enjoyed the course today although cart path only is a bummer to keep things moving. My only complaint has to do with the carts. The course and facility are always great but as nice as they are the carts can't get out of their own way. in addition it was hit or miss weather the brake held.
Fall golf
Course is immaculate. Green speeds are fast, but so fun to play. I spoke with golf superintendent, professionals, bev cart, and bar staff, they are amazingly kind and customer service was exceeded. We are planning to go back next week.
Great Course
Country club like atmosphere. Fairways are beautiful. Greens are fast and true and beautiful. Not to be missed. I’ll be back.
A Simple Fix, Ignored
Tradition at Oak Lane, a fine course, is like many others I've played where far too many tee markers make little sense for the older/shorter hitters. What ever happened to the USGA's "play it forward" campaign to encourage more participation and fun? Seniors and women do not care about a manicured tee box. What would it take to finely mow a place in the fairway and place the senior and ladies' tees AT AN APPROPRIATE DISTANCE FROM THE GREEN? How does it make sense to have tees ranging from black to red on the same tee box? THIS SHOULD BE STANDARD PROCEDURE FOR ALL COURSES that do not have multiple tee boxes.
