SAD TO SEE IT GO ???
Don't understand how the Town of Woodbridge is closing this course ?????
Put some money into the clubhouse and you could turn that place around into a money maker !!!!
Very Friendly staff
Course overall was in pretty nice shape. The greens had been air-rated which I was not made aware of so putting was a problem. Ball marks on the greens just do to people not taking the time to fix there"s. Got behind four men who would not let me play through which really annoyed me since they were playing so slowly.
Cc of Woodbridge
I booked it on GolfNow for $24 ea but ended up paying $33 ea . . GolfNow charged on credit card for the whole amount. I only agree to the booking fee of around $5 .
Woodbridge cc staff was great .
The course is being closed so it is in decline and overbooked .there are no port o potties .
All foursomes were told to play faster .
It was hurry up and wait . A few times , 3 foursomes were waiting at the same tee .
Many people were not happy . It's the last time I boon there .
I played Woodbridge in the past and liked it . Even the great staff couldn't overcome the overbooked , under kept and overbooked course
Pleasant layout
Pleasant layout with very well maintained greens
For the price, well worth it and MOVE FAST to play, CLOSING ITS DOORS!!!
But the course management (and I learned the course will be closing FOR GOOD on 10/31/16), so there seems to be no management (ranger, put my clubs on the cart, give me a ket to the cart, which cart...all questions that were painful to get answered). As for the course, greens were in great shape for a town owned course that is up for sale. SAD DAYS!!! Back int the day, before it went from private CC to public, it was a must play course.
A challenge
CC of Woodbridge, is a good quality course that is still recovering from some years of abuse. It is a good layout with some challenging holes. Greens are in good shape but not as fast as they appear. The staff is friendly but there is no where to grab a beer after. Range is limited but serves it's purpose. Overall I like the course and would definitely try it again.
Monday 11:00am
Pace of play was painfull, never saw a ranger
Solid course
Course was in good condition with the greens in good shape also. Ranger was very good at keeping the pace at a good rate. Only complaint would be lack of yardage markers on fairways.
Nice variety.
Course offers a few different challenges. Well maintained and good views of the surrounding hills. Pro shop guy was extremely nice. Only aspect they should address is the fairway sprinklers coming on as players are on their way through. When I asked a course regular, he laughed and said he was just used to it and dances around them.
SLOW
Play was extremely slow, waiting on every shot. No Rangers on the course yo push play. 3 hours to play 9 holes. The best thing is the sprinkler system was going on during play. Just pathetic.
Just OK
In spots the course conditions were ok in other spots they were awful. Most greens however were fine, a little slow but true. I had an early morning tee time and they let me out as a single. Finished in less than 2.5 hrs even though at times it was a bit confusing on where to go you must pay attention to the tee signs. I will go back but only with a Hot Deal price, the course at this time is not worth more than that
Course conditions
The course was not in good condition. No one fixes their divot and it was dry. For the money I guess it was OK but played Oak Lane same week and that was in great shape.
Green and Bear It.
I showed up for a 3:00pm tee time expecting to be play good 18 in under 4 hours...good thinking. Although the pace of play was terrible and I had to quit after 9, I don't really have anything negative to say about this course.
First off, you're not capable of hitting a draw, then forget trying to play here. Seeing as I have a natural draw to my swing, I was in a comfortable position 75% percent of the time when playing on the par 4/5 holes.
The par 3's were an interesting challenge as although two out of the three were slightly downhill, you'll need more club then you might think.
I heard rumors about the greens being tough, and I didn't think much of it at the time, but holy trevino, they were tough. I think the only time I had a flat putt was when i stuck in three ft from the pin on hole 8 (par 3).
If you're turning into a more advanced golfer and want to work on your golf management, this is course for you. You really have to think and prepare yourself for each shot. This isn't a course when you can just go up there and swing freely.
Worth the challenge.
My only request is they have a ranger or someone out there, monitoring the pace of play. On the seventh hole, par 5, three groups on one hole. That's absurd.
Great mix of length and strategic shots
Love the mix of easy and hard tee shots. Love the risk reward type shots that can get you in trouble real quick.Greens are in great shape and quick.Bunker placement and shape are ok, but need softer sand.Played after rain and course drainage was great.Electric carts are great, but paths a little dangerous with 2-way traffic in a few places.
Nice course with some work
I really like the layout and the way it plays, but the course could use a little time with a person working on the high grass, and just cleaning up. You get the feeling that at one point, it was a beautiful course, but just can not miss that there are eyesores. The pond which plays on 3 or 4 holes looks like a sewer pond, and it is the water they water the course with. When the sprinklers come on, look out. And unfortunately-during 18 holes on a Saturday, the sprinklers came on a couple times...Midday...While approaching a green even... Having to wait for them to shut down, because you have seen the pond is not the best customer service.... Why not do that at night? As I said, plays nice, challenging in spots, and good value through golf now...Will be back, but hope they clean up the pond...All it needs is a little air pumped into the water and it would be better...
Course play improvement
The course layout will bring us back but not soon for the length of time for 18 at 5.5 hrs mgmt needs to work ln improving that issue
Over 3 hours for 9 holes
This course is a nice layout and the staff is very friendly. However, the pace of play made it quite unbearable and after 9 holes my 3- some decided to call it quits. We did receive 9 hole rain checks but I do not have time for a round of golf that is over 4 1/2 hours! They had a member/member event but didn't move the players along and made for a not fun Saturday afternoon!!
Woodbridge CC First Timer
Enjoyable venue. many many doglegs. Course could be better marked for distance.
Thank God for the signs to next hole, or you could get lost.
Staff in Pro Shop, starters, cart guys great folks.
Had a great time. teed off around 348PM a little slow at first but finished in under 5hours for a Sunday on holiday weekend not bad.
rough was nasty. greens ran pretty true.
Looking forward to laying again.
Was only $30 a head and a great deal.
lacking a full service bar for those that like o hang out afterwards.
Good course, bad management.
Played on July 4th weekend 2015. Got to the course and it was clear that they were very unorganized. They were actually out of golf carts, 45-1hr behind tee times, and sending people out as carts came off the course. So they overbooked tee times knowing they couldn't accomodate the # of players with carts. We actually walked the first 10 holes b/c we weren't willing to wait an hour to get out. Course is great, was in pretty good shape, facilities are good, just needs better management. Staff was nice, but running around crazy. They even sent a marketing email about a sale that the pro shop had no clue about. Very unorganized.
