Very Enjoyable,
Very nice course. I can't wait to go back.
Rough conditions
This course was in decent condition, the overall layout was good but the fairways and tee boxes were in rough shape. if you're looked for a quick round just to get out there, it is worth the price of you did a cheap round
Former private country club
A good course to hone your golf game. Nice layout, has seen better days, not that bad. I will play there any time when the price is right. Have a great day and enjoy this course.
Nice course
Second time I have played here, nice layout and friendly staff. Greens were recently airaited so can't give a true review of them .
Great place to play
Well when i walk right into the pro shop the gentleman greeted me with a good mooring how you doing and welcome to Sussex pine that was great to me he then asked me if i would like to play a round and i told him i had a reservation at 1110 he told me golf now and i said yes he told me iam all set and took my bag and put it on the golf cart and asked me if i played here before i told him yes i have. Then he told me about the club house specials and then said have a great day of golf.the course was layed out nice but some of the wooded ares need to be cleaned up from the pine needles and pine cones other than that i really enjoyed my self i will play there again.
Great Bargin
No ball washers very aggravating. Sand Traps not raked for a long time. Two easy things to do that would have made the experience much improved
Okay at best
C- course. Don't expect much.
cheap course
okay course at best. there are better course nearby.
Scheduling Issues
This is the 2nd time we played this course when a tournament was going on. We were put off the 10th tee and the play was as slow as it could be. When we made the turn it was still messed up. Golf Now needs to be aware of other activities that are going on when they make times available. The pro even said he should have closed the course for the day.
BTW, the course condition was the worse than all year.
Poor conditions
Good layout but unfortunately the course conditions were very poor.
Nice course
The greens were in good shape. Fair and challenging . I will play their again.
Easy to get to.
The course is fine. it needs little help with the rough as it lack irragation. Overall for the money it was good
Playing winter rules in the summer
The layout of the course is outstanding. Mostly wooded with water in play on some holes. Greens were in great shape. Fairways, collars, tee boxes, and rough were in poor condition. There are very few 18 hole public courses in lower Delaware and the closer you get to the beach the courses raise their rates ($85 - $150) and are very crowded. If you can get on for under $40 and play winter rules the course is worth playing.
Course was in fair shape
The fairways were not in the best shape but it was still a fun course. Greens were great. There are a ton of sand traps and a good bit of water hazards. If you're not hitting you're drive down the middle it's gonna make for a tough round
Beach Vacation Golf
This is an older course, more of a local community course then a true "Country club". Greens were in great shape, fairways had issues, bare patches and spotty grass growth, tee boxes were generally ok. Priced above what i feel it was worth. Limited tee box selections and ended up making up a hybrid to play distance we wanted. Played early on a Friday so pace of play was not a problem. Carts were in good shape. Staff was ok. Probably will not play again as this was not really what i was looking for as a Vacation beach golf round.
The course was in really good shape and the greens ran very true!!!
The staff at Sussex Pines were very friendly as we entered the facility! The practice green was in amazing shape, as were the course greens! The tee boxes were a little chewed up since we played late in the day, but other than this, the course played very well!
Sussex Pines Golf Club
The course was in great shape, greens were true, average fairways and wonderfully groom sand traps.
Some courses overlook how trap grooming improves the overall look of a course. Well done Sussex Pines!!
Hidden gem, no crowds and nice variety
Played here several times over the past 6-7 years. Better now after some green updates and still no crowds.
should have played putt putt instead
Course is way overpriced for the experience. My wife was forced to use one of the course "outhouses" due to the woman's locker room being locked. Judging by the condition of the men's locker room, that may have not been a bad thing. $50 a head gets you mediocre conditions which pair nicely with the mediocre staff. There are plenty of executive and full part courses in the area at equal or less price with double the value. overall, extemely dissapointed. Similar valued courses would fall in the $35 range.
