Great course
Wonderful course plenty of shade and decent amount of difficulty
Great shape
Course was in great shape for this time of year. Lots of work being done in the off season. Many of the bunkers have been re-done and more trees have been taken down. The old clubhouse trailer has been removed awaiting for the new clubhouse to be built. Once that’s done the off course amenities should improve greatly.
Great layout
The course was challenging and fun. It had a great layout and it looks like the owners are repairing and improving actively
Downed limbs
Considering it is still winter the overall condition of the course was very good. Late getting started but that was due to a frost delay. We were a 2-some behind a 4-some so obviously we are going to play more quickly. Our golfers just not aware of gold etiquette of letting a faster group to play they. It wouldn’t have mattered but by the completion of the 3rd hole the group in front of us was an entire hole behind the group in front of them. We finally had to skip the 5th hole to get in front of them. No other way to describe this other than inconsiderate.
Lots of downed limbs throughout the course especially the back 9.
Grand Auto Theft
Played behind 3 old guys, moving very slowly and always in rough, which was covered in leaves. This slowed things down to the extreme. My twosome hit the fairways often, but penalized by the group ahead by them picking up my longer drive 3 times. Drove cart right up to them to recover balls. They said they didn't know but my taylor-made tp5x was marked. Must have some kind of Marshall to keep things from getting out of hand like today. Fix it
Great but slow
The weather was perfect the course was in wonderful shape, and the only thing was we waited on every hole. Every hole, it was an extremely long round of golf. but then again, it was a gorgeous day and the course is in fantastic shape!
Local Gem
Course is in beautiful shape. Greens are fast and true. Sand traps need drainage but we had a lot of rain before I played. Love this course and will continue to play.
PS. Some People playing this course do not repair ball marks on the greens. On the 18th hole I repaired my mark and 4 others. I notice this on most holes and if everyone sticks to the normal “repair yours +1” mentality I am sure coarse management would appreciate it, I know I would.
First time in a long time
Well worth the drive south from Wilmington. What a gem. Tee boxes, fairways and greens (the best I’ve played on this year) were immaculate. Bunkers are 90% resanded. Nice range. Cart paths are the only small issue.
Great value and 4-some done in under 4 hours on a Friday morning. Nice.
Will be back frequently now I know.
