Brandywine Country Club

This course could be a GEM if they was to take care of it. The tee boxes were just in poor shap. It was like playing in the rain,and it didn't rain that day. The fairway was soak no drainage at all and the bunker was flooded. Should have worn fishing boots. The club house well lets just say it look empty. I ask the guy in the Pro shop what was going on he told me they didn't want to invest in the shop. In other words They not going to take care of it

This is a very traditional course, with just enough trees to require accurate shots. Course was in good condition despite heavy rains 24 hours before. Of you keep your ball in play, you will have a good round.

Course was in good shape considering g there was a tornado warning the night before. Great twilight rate made it worth the round. Would play the course again.

This seemed to be a good price on golfnow but was a disappointment. Course has no drainage to speak of and the greens, tee boxes, and bunkers were beat up. Honestly, worse than any of the munis I have played in the area. It's not a lot of money, but you should save it and go play somewhere else.

I love playing this course and am a little selfish in hoping more people don't find out about it and start playing it. I have complaints about it, similar to the other reviews I've read, but where else can you play an old private course for $25-$30 and be done in less than 4 hours? The last 2 times I've played it was after heavy rains and it was "cart path only" and the course was wet. It doesn't drain very well. It obviously isn't taken care of like it was when it was private, but that shouldn't stop golfers from repairing their ball marks on the greens to help out the golfers playing behind them. I was fixing 2-3 ball marks on most holes! All that aside, I love going there and having no one ahead of us or behind us and being able to have fun and enjoy the round. It has some challenging holes and I love the finishing hole too! Will have to get more rounds played there before it is gone and becomes an old memory!!

not a bad course to play...you need to be straight off the tee or trouble will prevail. To keep play moving, punch out instead of fighting the elements. It's amazing how golfers still do not fix their divots on the greens. If you see one, fix it...the greens deserve it. Worth the play and the staff is very friendly!!!

It's been said before that the course is not in great shape, it's not but for $40 what do you want! The course is maintained pretty well and the staff is always extremely polite. The pace of play is what makes it worth every penny. Regardless of the day or time the pace of play is always moving which is an anomaly at a public course in the Wilmington area. Other public courses in the area maybe better maintained but you will have 5 to 6 hour rounds, not at Brandywine. I'm glad I gave this course a second chance!

Course is in decent shape, greens are starting to get beat up. Seems like not a lot of up keep is going on, but a good course to play and in a great location. Flow of play moves along well. No A.C. working in the Pub only fans blowing hot air around. Only one table on the patio if you want to sit outside.

Well when you first enter you think the place is closed down... All the bushes are overgrown and the overall look of the clubhouse is gloomy... The course is in ok shape... Greens rolled pretty good and fairways were in good shape; but again everything else is over grown... My guess is that they are short staffed and can't get to everything but are making the greens and fairways priorities, which I can appreciate... The course could be a gem if they cleaned it up a little... Layout is very good, very tight and challenging course. They do have a range and practice green... Again overgrown... Staff was awesome and treated me very well. Guy picked me up in the parking lot and took my bag and myself to the pro shop, same service on the way home... Would recommend for a hot deal...

this course used to be great to play. the layout is fantastic! the problem lies with the management and overall conditions. the Green aerated over 3 weeks ago and still A LOT of damage Also it felt like it was the fall due to all holes with debris from trees. lack of care goes into taking care of this course! I think it's atrocious that they charge so much money to play this course. I will not come back to this place

First time playing brandywine with a friend who lives around the corner who has played there before. Perfect weather and the course was not packed which I found odd for a Sunday. Course conditions quickly showed why it wasn't packed. Tee boxes were pretty chewed up but the fairways/rough weren't too bad. The "greens" were atrocious. They weren't even green anymore because it looks like they haven't been watered in years. Lots of balls marks and a few "greens" had substantial potholes. The only thing I was happy about was that I found a hot deal and used a coupon on top of that, otherwise I would have been pretty salty to pay full price for this place. Skip this track until conditions are vastly improved.

The staff keeps this fun and challenging, course alive. The layout lets you hit the driver plenty of times and you get a chance to hit your choice of irons. The geens and bunkers are not bad at all.
Try it you will not be disappointed.

Great layout, great condition, great staff, too few yardage markers.

This course was good for the price ($38). Greens were aerated, so they were very slow but that is common for many courses in April. The tees were up so it was playing short, but it's not a very challenging course to begin with. Par 3's are very short.

The tee boxes and greens are very close together and it feels like someone is hitting into you on every tee box.

Great location and great play. I will be back frequently.

Course was wet, but it was great to get around in 2.5 hours. The price was also outstanding for n interesting course.

Played on Dec 27th, great weather but course was really chewed up. Greens were beat, ball marks everywhere. Leaves were not blown off playing area, which made finding your ball very tough, even on the fairways
