East at White Pines Golf Course
About
White Pines Golf Club is ideally situated for both locals and visitors with a convenient location that is just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago and only 10 minutes from O'Hare International Airport. The club has two 18-hole courses, the East and the West. The East is the shorter and more player friendly of the two at 6,371 yards from the back tees. The fairways are seemingly narrow but there is some room for recovery if you have an errant shot. There aren't as many bunkers or water as on the West Course, but there is enough to provide a fun round. In addition to 36 holes of golf, White Pines G.C. also offers the Golf Dome, one of the world's largest indoor golf facilities. It features five target greens surrounded by bunkers, 50 hitting tees on two levels, and six suspended hitting targets for practicing your accuracy.

Course in Good Condition
Enjoyed my round on the west course Thursday.
We had a few sprinkles of rain when we first teed off but temperatures were great. The Greens and fairways were in great shape, but the rough was a little long (making some shots difficult). Plan to return this year to play the East course.
Needs a little TLC
This course was fine, especially at the very low rate via GolfNow. The tee boxes were very scruffy and uneven, and the bunkers were terrible. The fairways and rough were ok, and the greens were in pretty good shape considering no one who plays there seems to fix any ball marks. I would play here again but not rushing back.
2 halves
Shotgun start on the back nine, the back played tougher then the front, tough lay ups on the back if you can't stay in the fairway, the wind picked up and blew my drives off. The front played very easy with par able par 3's, broke 100, the 6$ bucket is awesome to range with before, 35 balls is perfect, chipping and putting greens in great shape. Very likeable course, challenging, narrow, Old School feel, makes you want to break out Grandpa's hat and wood woods. Will play again.
Love this course!!!
Played both East and West. Once also chose to walk. Love the level of difficulty and given that this course is maintained by the Bensenville Park District it is really really well kept.
Good golf
No one can grow grass like White Pines. Always in good shape. Greens good
Golf now bargain
I haven’t played White Pines in a number of years - forgot how challenging it could be.
The course is in great shape and we had a nice afternoon.
Beautiful, mature courses
Have played this course since the late 70s always love playing at White Plains
Poor Course Condition
Beautiful tree lined course however it is poorly maintained. Cart path has a tremendous amount of potholes so its easy to tell they have not replaced it or maintained it in years. So bad, the gravel from the potholes are all over the path. Seriously, I felt like I was driving through some of the worst streets of Chicago. The fairways had a lot of fresh divots, the greens had a lot of fresh pitch divots, and the bunkers we're not raked at all. I played at 630am so I could tell the sand had not been raked in days or probably weeks. I'm not a course condition snob and I could not believe how bad the clientele is at repairing their divots and how bad the staff is at maintaining the course. Very surprised considering it costs $65. The layout is respectable and has enough challening areas to be an awesome course if the conditions weren't so bad.
Great time
I had a blast on here, bunkers sand was damp but very playable and in very good condition. Some rough areas had a little buildup of water but nothing terrible or even in the way. greens were maintained and tee boxes were fine.
Tight tree lined course. Slow pace.
Course conditions were good. Many holes tree lined with light dog legs with fairways and greens in good condition.
They have a couple large practice greens and a driving range. There are a couple issues though.
1. Lack of variety in course length. Par 70 course where tips are 6371 and the next distance is 5893 and the last being 5150.
With the course being tight I think people play the longer length and then waste time looking for their ball. The terrain isn't flat which means errant balls can travel places unexpected. I hazard to guess how long it could be to find your ball once the leaves fall. Unfortunately people don't limit their search to just a couple of minutes.
Several holes are significantly harder. For example there are two par 3's where the distance for the tips and next level are 192 over a long water carry vs 119 yards and the other is 183 vs 120 yards and again a large water carry.
2. Back nine is harder than the front. The front is a par 34 and the back is a par 36. The back 9 has more water carries and is tight. The problem is one can get through the front faster than the back - which means play is constantly backed up. After finishing hole nine there was literally a 20 minute wait before starting hole 10. Ultimately my round - which was mid day and a Thursday, took 4hrs 50 minutes.
I would suggest they should reverse the order - play the back nine first. Also, they need to find a way to make more options in the length - which I understand is not an easy solution.
Lastly enforce pace of play. I have found courses tend to not want to do this as they don't want to make their customers unhappy, but I would ask, how many people don't come back because of slow play.
Good Pace
Very Good pace of play 4hrs, could be because of 3 other decent players respecting the rules of pace play, 4 hrs, hit from the black tees, challenging holes. 1st time playing, I would play again.
