Golf Course or Cow Pasture?
Dekalb County should close this course and save a few bucks. If you are not going to keep the fairways cut, tee boxes marked, greens and bunkers maintained, then why keep the course open? Seems like you the course is just staying open to generate a little revenue, but nothing is going back into course maintenance.
At first I thought it was just me, but after reviewing other player comments, it looks like I'm not the only one.
Just close it and save yourself any further embarrassment.
I hate giving negative reviews, but this course gave me no other choice. There is no need to provide a response from the course staff. Looks like they are all they are all the same from the reviews I've read.
Thanks and have a great day. Once again, just close the course and stop wasting money.
Great Value
Sugar Creek has been greatly renovated and restored. The course was grossly neglected for years but is in the best condition I have ever seen it.
The day I played was after two days of heavy rain so the greens hadn’t been cut yet which made putting tough. That being said you could tell that when the greens are cut this course is a tremendous value.
I do wish they had more choices for concessions in the clubhouse. That was the only real downside to the experience. The staff was very friendly and responsive.
Overall I would give SugarCreek 4.5 stars out of five. I would have given 5 stars if they had hot dogs or sandwiches or something to snack on other than chips and cookies.
Close to 5 stars
Everything about the course is very good. A little more growth to the grass will help to get 5 stars. The only blemish is the condition of the cart paths. They need a lot of work.
Wetlands Golf
Great course layout, wonderful staff, the only issue is this course doesn't have a good draining system. After almost a week of no rain the course was extremely wet puddles on several cart paths. some fairways were completely mud covered. When this course is dry it is great.
This course is below my expectations
Uneven fairway, artificial green and no sign board lead the way to the next hole.
We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your visit. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention; we will work to address them as soon as possible.
Slow greens
The course is in very good shape for winter conditions. Fairways are thin but mostly OK. With most courses having fast to very fast greens, this course was quite a change. We never could get adjusted to the slowness and left many putts short. We'll be ready next time.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the slower greens not meeting your expectations and hope to see you again soon.
What a Muni Should Be
Atlanta's least pretentious muni. Staff is putting work going into the course, especially thinning out trees and improving drainage around the course. Greens are good. Sugar is not going to wow anyone, but it's an enjoyable layout for a great price. Love playing here.
I really like what going on with the course and I can not wait to see how beautiful it will be in the spring. Keep up the great work!!!!
Thank you for your positive review and for your kind words about our golf course. We appreciate your support and look forward to providing you with an even more beautiful experience in the spring.
Nice course. Wet day.
We chose a very wet day to play. Fairway was doggy but greens in great condition. Gave a low rating on course condition because of rain. Otherwise, conditions are somewhat better.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for the wet conditions you experienced on your visit, and we appreciate your understanding of the impact rain can have on the course. We're glad to hear that despite the weather, you found the greens to be in great condition.
great course and friendly staff
The staff is very friendly and the course takes good management skills as you can;t really hit your driver on several of the par 5s. It was wet bc it had rained a ton the day before but we still had a nice time. Challenging and fun!
Great Value course
Only front 9 was open since it rained heavy and it has been cold. Greens were rolling good. Great value as usual.
Thank you for your compliments on our course layout and staff. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the draining issues and are working on improvements to ensure a more enjoyable experience in the future.
