Fun Muni with History
Really enjoyed what we were able to play. Only real negative was our booking included carts but the course was not allowing carts because of wet conditions (to be honest the course was not wet). It was a very cold and extremely windy day so we only got 9 holes in. Greens were in amazing condition! Layout was player friendly but still offered some risk/reward choices. A great value and we will be back.
Rainy day in Georgia.
Great place to play. Well worth it. Course was in good shape especially for the time of the year. Looking forward to play in the warmer months.
So slow
I play here frequently and have had pace of play issues in the past, but never like this. Another player and I bought 11 AM tee times. When we got to the tee at 10:58 there were 9 players on the tee. 5 of them teed off in the first group, the other 4 then teed off in a second group after the first group played their second shots. The guy I was paired with asked if we could go ahead since we were only a group of two, and both groups said no. A course worker pulled up afterward and told us this particular group doesn’t let anyone play through. we were waiting on the tee while the other group teed off the entire day. 5 hours to play this course is unacceptable. The conditions were nice considering it’s February, and I enjoy the layout and challenger of this course.
Did not actually play
When I got te to course the staff was very nice and got me in and out the door in not time at all. The problem was I booked through Golf now and was hoping I would be put with other golfers. The guy at the pro shop said there were 2 other golfers and pointed on out to me. When I went to the 1st tee there was o starter and the other 2 golfers never showed. There was a 5 some n front of and behind me and I was not going to play at that pace. I decided to just leave and forfeit my 21 $. The course was very very busy and I would not recommend booking for less than 3 people and if you do expect a very long day.
great value
course is a great value but do not get hungry while you are there. No food services available. kitchen was closed at 2pm.
Need improving
I play this course about 4 time a week, it's my practice course. Over the years they have put in alot of effort and money into the course, my hat off to all of there hard work.
The problem I have is the driving range and some of the tee box are really bad, down right awful and is in serious need to be totally redone. They have a class from Augusta Tech teaching people to how to take care and work on golf course. See if they can get them to work on the Patch tee box and driving range.
Lastly, the Chipping area is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS, MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL, the grass is suppose to be as the putting green.
You can't chipping on a inch grass and get a true rolled out. It's truly a wasted area.
I really do enjoy the golf course but some area need to be really improved.
Good pace
Enjoy the course as usual. Not crowded, didn't feel I had to keep a pace.
Great Value
This is a great place to work on your game. The cost is economical. The people are great. The course is is decent shape. Depending on work, I play The Patch almost once a week.
Getting better
The course is in good shape only thing I don't unstand is the chipping area, they ate letting the grass grow out with that you don't get a true read on how far your ball roll out when chipping.
The driving range need to be extended, put more dirt toward the back and level it off.
Beside that I like the work the guys has done
Look, I know it’s December and it hasn’t rained here in several weeks, but the conditions here aren’t good. Tee boxes on most holes have little grass, the fairways sometimes less.
The greens are okay except for one that’s close to being unfair. One member of our group hit a perfect pitch from above the hole that barely made the green. By the time it stopped, it rolled off past my ball in the fringe at the front of the green. My chip went above the hole and then rolled back at least 10’. Unfair.
Maybe in the summer there will be better conditions.
