Championship at Governors Run Golf & Country Club

This is one of the best courses in the metro east. Condition is second to none... excellent job by the course superintendent.
Down side is the clubhouse staff is as bad as they come. They treat golfers poorly, as if they do not want to be interrupted while reading their papers or watching TV. Their attitude towards customers using Golf Now.com. is especially unprofessional and rude.
Other golfers comment also about how they felt unwelcome in the clubhouse here and would probably not return even though they enjoy the golf course.

liked this course, it could stand some maintenance--lots of weeds. Greens were in good shape. I was bothered by the amount of people just driving golf carts around. No clubs, just driving about in course carts and yammering loudly and constantly. There was even a bunch drinking and pulling slide turns on the course. I was shocked when I was charged $9 for a small bucket of balls. My recommendation is with reservation.

The course was in very good shape. While the course is not a long course, 6465 yards from the blue tees, it does present with a lot of hazards. Better served to play conservative on this course. Only used the driver on a few holes. 3 wood off the tee and make shots with your irons is the smarter play. Greens were soft and held the ball well.

I really enjoyed the bent grass fairways, and the greens were in perfect shape. Cart paths were easily marked so a first time had no problem finding his way. Course layout was challenging, and breathtakingly beautiful.

The golf course was in great condition. The fairways are zoysia grass which were very plush. I would recommend playing this course.

This course is a little out of the way. That being the case, it wasnt busy and pace of play was quick. This course also travels well. I could see that even on a busy day, it would seem like you had the course to yourself. Staff was helpful. Hope to come back soon.

Arrived at the course and was greeted by the friendly staff in the proshop. Grabbed a cart and away we went. Weather and course was perfect. Can't wait to play it again.

We played on a hot deal, and was pleasantly surprised. Staff, course, just everything was wonderful. I will come back and play this course, again, when I am in the area.

Great course. Challenging, but not impossible. Course was in good condition overall. Wish the course was closer to home, I would play this course on a regular basis. Friendly staff.

Played the 6400yd 1up tees. All areas of the course were nice except the bunkers. Many had grass growing through them. A few were dirt/mud. The fairways were great as the ball sits high in them. The greens are soft, smooth and a medium to fast speed. If only they fix the bunkers, I cannot find any other flaws. Played on a Wednesday for a $27 all you can play rate with $2 beers. The locals say the course has declined from its acclaimed past and the owners are dumping money into it and losing money each year.

Golf is such a great value compared to similar courses in St. Louis. Coures is in perfect shape.
