Pretty good condition for winter golf. Greens a bit fuzzy but running true.
Just feel that it’s a bit too expensive. About 10-15 dollars less would be just right.
Interesting marshland layout, can be soggy
Played with my wife and it was a beautiful day. First time playing. Course conditions were good overall, the greens were beautiful and rolled nice, the fairways less so. it had been dry and breezy and several days since last rain. much of the course was dry but soft. zero roll. parts were a bit soggy . i would avoid this place if it has been raining the day before you play, it will be wet.
the views were pretty nice, some over marsh. lots of water on this course some of it hidden. look at cart gps monitor closely. fairways varied in width but were generous for the most part. tee boxes were in great shape. they clearly overseed with rye. fairway was in decent shape but nothing special.
the rate is a touch high for the condition but i still enjoyed myself. i would come back. it was one of those places where you know you can play well.
two things of interest were they had a few raised tee boxes… on 18 it’s really high. the raises tee boxes are in great shape but the general hardscape around them could use some touch up.
the other odd thing is there is an island green but it wasn’t part of the 18 holes i played. it looks like it is part of the driving range. would be nice it that was a part of play.
what staff that was there was friendly but there were few.
Overpriced
Definitely not enough value for the money. It’s a great course for $35, too bad they charge twice that. Fairways were ok, greens really slow, and rough is basically crabgrass. They should consider lowering their rates.
Soggy but Ok
Course was very wet with some rain during the round. The layout was fine and it was not overly hard. I would go back but when things had dried out.
Great, challenging course.
Excellent course, fast greens, well maintained, friendly staff!
Recommended highly!
Beautiful coarse greens are in great condition. I will be back.
Water on just about on every hole very challenging love the elevated tea boxes.
Enjoyable Experience
My son resides in Chapel Hill, I in Fort Myers, we met halfway in the St Simons Island area. We were looking for a different fibe, specifically a low country, marsh grass, ocean bay course. This was it!
Looks good and plays average
The course was overall in great condition and it was the pace of play was very good. The 19 hole is a very great bonus.
Vacation play
Really nice course. Layout good, greens great and staff friendly and helpful. Handicap friendly which was a real plus for me. Will be back in the area in October and definitely plan to play again.
Like all golf courses Heritage Oaks has turf challenges, but this is December, a month which crabgrass and Bermuda are dormant. I am the owner of Heritage Oaks and invite you to return and point out each piece of crabgrass, and using Kraft Salad dressing, I will eat all of it. Hope to see you soon.
