I have played Fields Ferry for many years, course is great. Greens and Fairways are always in good shape, staff friendly.
Also, egg and chicken salad sandwiches from the grill are also consistently good.
My wife and I plan to play course again next week.
This was a great course! $26 twilight rate after 3 or 4. I played on a Monday as a single and everybody I talked to along the way was so nice and friendly. Had a few people let me play through without a problem. Even though there has been some rain recently, the course was in great shape. The greens rolled perfect and the fairways and tee boxes were excellent.
Great course. Great people.
Very nice reasonably priced course. The staff makes for a great experience. Well worth the money. You won’t regret playing Fields Ferry.
The golf course is in phenomenal shape. All areas tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens. The green are very well manicured and have great Bermuda grass. There pace is excellent. The overall course conditions are better than many higher priced resort courses I have played. If you have not played this course it’s a hidden Jewel.
Can't beat it, great layout, great shape, great price...
Great course and value. Pace was also excellent. Played 18 in 3.5 hours. Nice range and friendly staff.
Great Hospitality from staff and guests. Beautiful Challenging Course - Will play from Gold tees next time. Lots of Strategic sand traps and water to keep us in the fairways. Sand was inconsistent texture is my only small complaint...BEST to stay out of the traps for sure!
Are you kidding me?
Where to start...... first it is always fun to pay your green fee, tee off & get to the first green to find it looks & rolls like laguna beach..... no mention from anyone or the website of green maintenance. Secondly... no course marshall & a bunch of yahoos on the course with three groups stacked up behind them, no golf etiquette & no marshall to either move them along or out of the way. Lastly... they are more concerned with you taking a golf cart into the oarking lot than what happens on the course. Fool me once shame on you..... won't be a second time!!
My Favorite public course
Always very well groomed, maintained, and cared for. Long and wide, I can usually play with a sleeve of balls.
Good Course, Pro shop staff very unfriendly
Two separate feelings.(FYI: I had been an asst. pro at two courses for over six years) First the bad. Walked into the pro shop to check in. I stood at the counter for almost a minute. Then, when he finally looks up... asks me "Do you need something?" He then checks me in and never thanks me for my business or gives me any instructions whatsoever for play that day(cart rule, start on one, running on time, etc..) Probably my worst experience ever checking in to play golf. Now the Good... The course was in fantastic shape.. The greens were probably the best I have played on in years. Absolutely perfect, smooth and quick.....I hated to leave those greens...edge to edge did not see a bad spot. The super should get a raise!
First time playing this course and it was in great shape. Greens were perfect and rolling fast. Fairways were perfect, no dry spots. It would be hard to lose a ball here except for the water on the course. I will go back again, a must play. If I remember correctly, it plays a little over 6500yds from the tips. A great secret out in the countryside.
This course is well maintained, but stay in the fairway, 2nd cut is deep and will almost cover your ball. Greens are sloped and fast with a lot of break. The snack bar is limited, and she was out of fresh brewed tea at the hottest part of the day. We were in there twice and she was on the phone the whole time, back to the course, I recommend a little practice on the putting green before starting your round just to get the feel of the greens.
This was the first time I played this course and was very satisfied. Well groomed and excellent layout, some of the greens had been sanded. The fairways were well established and cut with a rough not that terrible. Wide open fairways on the majority of the holes, with a few in the woods. A rangefinder or some other distance app would help as there are several holes that had hazards. Many times a lay up shot was the best choice. I'll be back.
What public golf should be!
Course is immaculate, wide fairways, green speed very fair and light rough. Course is a bit off the beaten path and terrific mountain scenery off in the distance. Place this course closer to metro Atlanta and it's easily $35.00 more per round. Anyone from Marietta & above on the I-75 side should make the trip.
Have not played here in a while. Nice surprise of the shape of this course. I give a hand to the maintenance who seem to be doing a great job. If the rough was a little higher this course would play tough with the addition of a couple of tee boxes I do not remember. Greens are a big deal for me. Bermuda needs a good double cut to keep some of the grain out. It was very hard to make a putt because of the grain. But I have to say knowing the past problems on this course with bent grass. The Bermuda is very welcome.
