Great shape
Path only today. Fairways are in excellent condition as well as greens. Didn't play bunkers cause of recent rain. Wish I could find more deals for Saturday and Sunday. Kinda pricy on weekends for the drive all the way out there. If they keep it affordable would play at least three times a month. Wide open fairways, no goofy holes. Good straight up track. Highly recommend.
A Pleasant Surprise
Didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. Greens weren't immaculate, but they rolled good. Fairways and bunkers were in good shape too. Front nine was long and fairly open, while back nine was shorter and tight. There was some good par threes where you had to use different clubs. I can't tell you how many times I play some courses, and all the par threes play about the same distance. Hope eight is as tough as they come. Sharp dogleg left with a long forced carry to the green with your approach shot. A good golf hole. The only negative that I saw was some wet collection areas near the greens. With the correction of some of these drainage issues, the conditions would be even better. Hope to get to play here again. Thoroughly enjoyed the round.
Top 2 or 3 courses around Atlanta
This is one of the favorites in the Atlanta area. Always well kept. Beautiful looking but challenging course. Fast greens present the most challenge. Love everything about this course. Very reasonably priced for weekend ($40). This is a must do
Awesome Course
This is one of the nicest courses that I have played. Prestine wide fairways with multiple ridges and valleys. Lots of sand bunkers and water. This is a very challanging course . A long drive is paramount off many of the par 4 tee boxes to have a chance at par. Consider using a longer club than normal as the ball doesn't seem to carry as well. Very nice course and very scenic. I will be back .

Great Course!
Greens were in great condidtion and rolled nicely. And to make the day very Sweet I got a HOLE IN ONE on 17! Always been one of the best courses in NW GA.
Greens were fast
Our tee time was 8:32am. The course was in good shape. The greens were rolling really well. They were a little firm but you just need to adjust. After all "that's golf"!
Beautiful and challenging
Beautifully manicured course, scenic vista with some very long and challenging holes.
I recommend this course highly!!
This course is all a course should be
The course has a fantastic staff and a great course to go with it enough to make golf fun as it should be
Going down hill!
This was one of my favorite courses. Over the past 2 years the greens have deteriorated and the overall course conditions have gone down. I'm not sure what's going on with the greens but they are very bumpy. I played twice in the spring and asked about the greens then. Was told by pro shop they agreed the greens were bumpy and would pass along my concern. Played again today, two months later, and there has been no change with greens, still bumpy. Also, the fairways were mowed to low and uneven. Clumps of grass everywhere, like a hayfield. Can not recommend this course until they improve on their maintenance.
Beautiful Day at Fields Ferry
I really enjoyed our round once again. Never a bad day there. Fun, long course (Blue tees- nearly 6,700 yards although new and old score cards vary by about 100 yards. Yardages seemed to play closer to the 6,700 scorecards) with a few challenges along the way. #16 bit me again as the water down the right seems to have a ball magnet in it. The greens were not a true as everyone seems to say. They seem to be bumpy still due to the May aeration.
Great shape
Best course around for the money. Course is in great shape and prices are very fair.
Best value for just getting out to play
1) Most friendly, accommodating staff of any muni I've visited anywhere. Thank you Eric and Danny.
2) Excellent value. I've been coming back for 22 years, driving 130 miles roundtrip.
Good Day for Golf
Weathered the winter in good shape. Gold tees are a little long for Senior play. We used Red tees on back nine. Enjoyed more. Greens fast and in good shape. Defend themselves well. Fairways recently plugged. Good bit of water. Would play it more, if could.
Alway's Enjoyable
It was certainly my pleasure to play Fields Ferry golf club yesterday. Although the fairways have been plugged the fairways were still good. Best greens I put on as well! There may be some greener, flatter putting surfaces true, but if you want speed and a pure roll these greens are so much fun.
for any golfer.
One of the best course in north Georgia.Love playing this course.
Fast Greens
Still have the champion bermuda and it is slick right now.
Best Value within 45 Minutes of North Atlanta
I've played this course many times over the past 10 years. The staff is great. The course is a challenge if you wish it to be (tee choices). Plenty of room for the occasional stray tee shot (not too narrow) Playing in February usually means giving up on good (or even reasonable) conditions, especially greens. Even dormant, greens rolled fast and true. Excellent Value. Fields Ferry will remain in my playing rotation. You should add it to yours!
Soggy but Fun
Fields Ferry is always in good shape. Even after two inches of rain and cart path only, it was very playable. I was very surprised that there were not more players out for a very nice Sunday afternoon.
One of these days I am going to remember to take one more club than I think I need for the approach to 16. Better up on the top shelf than in the drink!
