This course is fantastic!
For the money, you simply can't beat this golf course. From tee to green, every hole is in great shape! It has a variaty of challenging shots. I've played a lot of courses and I can honestly say for the price and course condition, this course is very very hard to beat. Play it soon, you''ll be glad you did.
Great Course but the People and the Cost make it one of my Favorites!
Great Course, Great Employees and Super Prices keep people coming back to this challenging course. When new Bermuda Greens mature, this will be one of the overall Best Courses in North Georgia.
fantastic layout
front nine is long for the average ball striker, back nine is better suited for high handicappers. great course, must play!!!!
The course has some great views, challenging holes and wide open space to play from.
The course is a challenging course with water and hills and has wide open spaces to play from. The greens are quick and true with lots of slopes to them. Some tough pins placements also.
Course provide plenty of challenges for low handicap players and weekend duffers alike.
Course was in very good shape though the greens had recently been aerated. Pace was good and surpirsingly the course was not crowded on a Sunday morning/early afternoon.
By booking online we only paid $38 for 18 holes and a cart which is great value for a course of this caliber!
Best Shape I've Seen it
Home town course with some good folks running it. The course is in the best shape I've ever seen it. It's very well maintained. Fields Ferry just last year switched over to Champion Bermuda grns.
The course is in fantastic condition
I have not played Fields Ferry in about a year since they switched from Bent to Bermuda greens. With the rain that we have experienced all year, the course is in the best condition. The green speeds are about average, but as the greens mature, I am sure they can be faster. As I was passing through, I also noticed that they had some great deals in the pro shop on clothes and equipment.
Risk Reward
Love the course. Fairway's are wide open but you must be precise on your approach shots since most greens have many undulations and several are multi-tier. Nice pace of play. Great snack bar at the turn. We played late morning Sunday and were never pushed and never waited. Well worth the drive from Brookstone CC where I live.
a gem in north ga.
course and greens in great shape, they did add new sand to bunkers which made them extremely fluffy, but well worth playing.
Harder than it looks
Great course that was in very good condition. Greens had a few bumps from the aerification that was done a short time ago. Front nine plays longer than seems but has open fairways. Back nine has less room to hit a long ball due to water that comes into play on most holes. Great course to play and have fun.
Great course for the money
Played here on Friday 5/24. While it is pretty far north, We found it to be an excellent choice. The course is in great shape. The new greens are really coming along nicely. The fairways were plush, so you are left with a nice cushion under the ball. There was not a tight lie anywhere. The course is not that difficult, with the exception of a few holes were driving accuracy is needed. We enjoyed our round so much, we cancelled our Sunday tee time and moved it here and saved 35 bucks in the process.
Well maintained
2nd time playing the course. Very well maintained. Staff could have been more helpful being a municipal course.
Great layout! .
The greens were real bumpy. They were not quite ready for
spring. They had been areated recently and had not fully
grown back in.
Fun course to play.
I have played this course several times over the years but had not played it since they upgraded their greens to Bermuda. It has always been pretty well maintained. The staff has always been cordial. It seems like some courses have the same hole eighteen different times, not this one. My favorite aspect of Fields Ferry is that each hole seems distinct from the other. Number one is a little simple but that's what makes it a good starting hole. Most of the holes seem to offer a good risk/reward option. I highly recommend playing this course. Everything was still dormant when I played this time but I have played the course when it was green and I have to say my rating of course conditions would be almost pristine.
The greens needed some work.
The greens looked as of they needed a little work. They were running very slowly.
Great coarse a lot of fun and just difficult enough.
Excellent coarse, a lot of fun and not to difficult or to easy to play. Everyone should play this coarse at least once.
Well kept course
Very nice course, well designed. Challenging, but also forgiving in areas. Really enjoyed my round.
Tough but very fair, not tricked up.
Played for the first time and really enjoyed it. Was invited to join another two players who had experience on the course which really helped. Course was in great shape for this time of the year. I've heard a lot of negative comments about the attitude of employees that work there. Manager seemed very friendly as was the lady in the snack bar, but older man that greeted us at the desk when we arrived around noon seemed a lot less friendly. Maybe he was having a bad day, I don't know, but I think Calhoun city recreation department management needs to take these allegations of unfriendly staff seriously and take appropriate action and institute training where appropriate.
Look forward to playing many more times in the future.
Quality course at a great price
Course was in good shape for mid-April and I assume it will continue to get better. Fields Ferry has everything you would want for an enjoyable yet fairly inexpensive round of golf. Will definitely be returning to play again.
Course has great greens
Great course new greens are excellent. Would recommend to anyone.
