So much potential!
Course has been neglected for years but apparently there are new owners prepared to make some improvements. My understanding is new cart paths and reworked bunkers are on the list of improvements. The bentgreens are in decent shape, however several had some rough spots. The tee boxes were just okay with some in need of new sod. Fairways were dormant but I suspect they will be fine when the Georgia drought is over. This course just needs a little TLC to return it to top condition.
Great return to Meadow Lakes
Returned to Meadow Lakes on a Golf Now special after not playing there for 7 to 8 years. Was pleased to have been greeted by a wonderful staff and actually got out earlier than our tee time. The course was just as great as I remembered and the tight lies due to the time of the year and the drought conditions were of little concern. Will be back soon!
very generous staff
It's been several years since I've played this course. The weather was wet for the
first hour or so this morning, backing up the course. knowing I was not a regular,
the morning pro shop clerk went out of his way to help me with any questions that
I might of had. Course details, carts, driving range, etc. The fairways and greens
were excellent. I will be playing there again soon!!!
Waiting, waiting, waiting
Pace of play is always an issue here. They never have a marshall that enforces pace of play with faster groups. I was a single riding but had to wait behind 3 walkers for the final 12 holes. Waited on every shot. No one on course to enforce letting faster players through.
Good value
Hard fairways and aerated greens made difficult in mid-March. Nice layout and greens. Good value.
Bagby
Best kept secret in the area. Can't beat for the money. Awesome greens. Course only problem is has a hard time draining after rain.
Good course, excellent value
Excellent value foe the money. The staff was very friendly, ran up on a group of five which let us play through.
Nice course but very wet.
Course doesn't drain well in inclement weather. Best played when dry. Bunkers could use some work, most have rock and stones which really isn't good for your clubs. Greens and fairways in good condition but full of leafs this time of year. Staff is very friendly and price to play is fair.
Going low
Fun course with a lot of good golf holes. Birdies are out there. So go out there and find them for yourself! Great staff and greens are solid.
Challenge
Greens in good shape, very challenging course. I assume to the dry weather we have had the fairways were a bit worn and hard as a rock. But can't beat the value!
Lazy groundskeeping
Greens are pretty good, but the fairways are not being taken care of. Many very hard spots where it doesn't seem to be getting watered. A lot of dying fairway grass and difficult lies in the middle of the fairway
Soft greens
Great course...a few blemishes in the green but not distracting...a variety of challenges to figure out...
Little attention
Meadow Lakes is a nice course that needs a little attention. The sand traps need the most work. The traps are big but have way to many rocks in them. You play this course like target golf. The course is short with narrow fairways. The pluses to the course are they have nice tee boxes and fairways. The greens roll well but some are small.
Know what to expect
Course is always lightly populated on weekdays. Greens in good shape; firm but consistent roll. Fairways green and firm. This course can get very soggy after rain (esp. #4, 5, 15, 18), so buyer beware. Cart path in need of major repair, and some bunkers need work as well (currently filling in fairway bunker on #1). Clubhouse staff (esp. Matt the pro) always extremely courteous! If you are looking for a course for a fast-paced round, at minimum expense, with a variety of holes, with a great staff, this is it. If you are looking for a pristine course, with smooth cart paths and sugar sand, this is not it. For the price and uncrowded conditions (even of weekends), this is definitely a great value!
Course Conditions
Course was extremely wet and was cart path only. I played 9 holes and called it a day. Had I known of the condition, I would not have signed up to play. It would help if you could make people aware of any unusual conditions on your web page.
My course rating is based on the course for the day I played and not normal conditions.
Disappointing
Memory of course from years past was major disappointment with what we experienced. Cart trail in major need of repair, traps had more rocks than sand, prior night's rain had course flooded, no differentiation between rough and fairway- just a totally sub par muni experience.
REALLY GOOD GREENS
IT RAINED HEAVILY THE DAY BEFORE SO A LOT OF WATER ON FAIRWAYS
great
I love this course its one of my favorites,..........,,
Worth the trip
Great course, nice challenge. Sufficient water to make it a challenge. Staff always friendly and helpful. Recommend this course for any level player.
