Upside Potential
I have played this course a couple of times. I was wondering why the rate was so appealing. There are several greens that are burned up pretty bad. Also, the cart path is cracked & broken in a couple of places. The worst is the bridge is out but there are no warning signs. New players have no clue that the bridge is out which is very dangerous.
This course has great potential should the superintendent or management put a little time, effort and money into the course. All this said, I will continue to play the course because I use it as a practice course. I get much more out of playing a round versus just the driving range.
Going downhill
I've played a few times here and it's getting steadily worse. Fairways are pretty good, greens are not. 2nd cut is ankle deep in most places and some areas it looks like the grass hasn't been cut in weeks. Bunkers are in bad shape.
The layout is pretty good, grounds crew needs to get it together though.
Great course
This is a very friendly and clean course. The course is well maintained. The fairways are nice and the greens are very nice. My only complaint was the rough areas. If you miss the fairway you may have trouble finding your ball even in the first cut of rough so stay in the short grass and you will be very happy with this course.
Great course for the price
Great course for the price. Good for beginners. Wide fairways and not to much trouble from the white tees. Not much sand and water trouble. Fairways were well kept. Greens were very good although tended to be small. Rough could be trimmed a little but all in all a nice easy course. Little more challanging from the far tees so also good for a low handicap who wants a quick round. The wide fairways little water hazards help keep lost balls to a min. So course plays very fast. Not a great course for large vistas and water views but will maintained and tree lined holes provide a nice country atmosphere.
In need of maintenance
Played here before and is usually a decent course but today was in need of maintenance.
Fairways
Fairways grass had a lot of crabgrass and was too tall.
Mowing your course!
The course would of been great if they would have mowed any.
Great staff
Good course for the money! The course is getter better and would recommend playing it.
Daniel Howell's 2 cents
Greeted by a nicely manicured putting green and a mediocre pave job in the parking lot. What used to be a well stocked pro- shop is now an empty room with a couple gloves and balls for sale. Friendly service from the manager. No starter present on the first tee, we teed off exactly on time without the other twosome that was supposed to tag along. Never had to wait thru the 18 holes, THE CART PATHS ARE TERRIBLE AND WILL TWEAK YOUR BACK. Very nice course with just a couple blotchy greens but they were still playable. Bunkers we're unkempt and unplayable. Fairways were even and closely mown, greens were a good and consistent speed. A very enjoyable round I do plan to go back.
Great value for the course
Great cousre for the price from golf now. Green was in great condition.
unexpected
Course was not in good shape. Fairways looked like the rough and the greens were in horrible shape with alot of missed mowed grass on it
Greens were in poor shape due to the winter weather.
The only real problem, booked on line, green fees were $21.50, and the fee for using Golf Now was $9.95. When I got to the course the regular green fees were $21.50, so it actually cost more using Golf Now.
Long past glory days
I used to play this course regularly. It was a solid track that had the best greens in Conyers. Now it's a hole. 2 of the greens were covered in sand, all of them had massive dead spots all over that made it patchy and impossible to putt. Water coolers were empty. I think that all of the range balls were gashed/missing chunks/etc. The sand was compacted and you couldn't hit any sort of actual sand shot out of it, needed to pick it clean or good luck. Fairways also had large swaths of swampy/muddy grass. This course needs work, and a lot of it.
Tee time
This is a great beginners course some greens need work but over all not bad a little over price for weekend play but a great fun course!!
Great value
Inexpensive fees. A couple of greens had some bare spots but otherwise in pretty good shape. Friendly staff. Decent prices on food and drink. Will definitely play again.
greens need work
Good course for the money a couple greens under repair and bunkers need to be raked but its a fair course
The staff might be the most approachable in GA.
A couple greens had some rough patches, but it didn't take away from the great weather and overall friendliness of the staff. Really enjoy playing this course.
Great course
Wide open but challenging. Greens need some work but overall great value for the money. Excellent pace of play
Highland GC
The fairways were in good shape, but the greens were terrible. Lots of sand and areas where there were no grass on the greens. A bridge was out over one of the par three and had to drive around on the lower end.
