Honey Creek
I play here often, great staff, fairways recently cut, pretty straight forward course. Not much in hazards, a few holes that water come into play. Been at the game for just a few years and i am able to shoot under a 100.
The course was pretty challenging but the greens require some attention
I like the toughness of the course but there is room for improvement. The price was fair for the conditions of the course.
Fairways were great, the rough not so much.
The fairways were in great shape, but the rough was long and uncut. The pace of play was superfast.
This Course needs Attention
I was disappointed when I played Honey Creek. I had heard many great things about this course and it was recommended by a great friend. The fairways were in need of a good mow. It looked like they hadn't been in quite some time. If your ball goes into one of the many patches of clover, good luck finding it.
Fairways in bad condition
Course needed work fairways and greens--needs to aeriate greens
Work needed
Fair at best. Tee boxes need work on the grass, location of markers and over all care. Fairways are tight and with a lot of bald spots. Getting to the greens will be a little rough because there is almost no cart paths which is ok because walking is almost faster than these carts move. Once you have arrived at the greens you'll see there over all not to bad. Its what you would expect for $14 on a Thursday.
Roughing in it on a warm day in January
Friendly staff. Course in rough shape but it is January. Greens were in surprisingly good shape; but tee boxes and fairways needed some TLC. Last played in August and remember tees not being so bad. Always affordable for a dad to take his 14 year old son out golfing to spend quality time. :))
This course is a good value for the price
I have played this course multiple times and I always find it both challenging and in good condition.
Just Average
This course needs attention, but is fun to play. Straight hitters will play it well. I must admit that some of the attention needed is caused by recent rains (some low places) and winter weather.
I would play it again.
Good course
Green ran true and fast. Fairway grass kept the ball up for a good shot. But the course layout was just average.
Greens and fairways in nice shape
nice for the value.......carts are well used. nice day
The course is in good shape
The check-in process was very quick and easy. The course is in good shape and the greens were quick. This is a fun layout with many elevation changes and dog-legs to deal with. Par 5's can easily be reached in regulation but the bunkers make shot selection important. Was not very crowded on a Friday which made for a timely round. Using the old Yamaha gas carts which are fast off the line. We plan on playing this course again in the near future.
Shorter Course, Yet Still Challenging
Honey Creek is not a long course by any stretch. It actually is a bit short. However, there are still only a few holes where you can really "Grip it and Rip it." The course is well guarded by OB markers, oftentimes on both sides of a hole. With that being said, it still plays very fair for virtually all skill levels. The course is in descent shape, especially considering the time of the year played (October) and the amount of rainfall in the area.
Greens and fairways in better than average shape good value
Well maintained greens, fairways good, staff pleasant
Player Friendly
Excellent course for short hitters & long alike. Welcoming greens and wide open fairways. 9 offers a significant challenge and 10 tempts you to drop it close. 12 is daunting and 15 requires a straight down the middle drive to have a look at the green. Overall one of my favorite courses in the south.
Good Course
I like the lay out of the course and th way some holes are very challenging yet others give you a chance to feel good about your game. It's a good course for people who like shorter yardage.
Easy to get on
I am from Independence, Mo. and visit family in the area quite often. I have played this course several times and enjoy it greatly. I usually show up as a single and the staff is super friendly. I have never had any problems with getting on this course as a single walk on. Course is and has always been in great condition from tee to green.
My Home Course
I hadn't been here in a while so I was pleasantly surprised at the conditions. The greens looked & played great. Fairways were also good & pace of play was quick. Lookin forward to another round.
