Great Deal, Fun Course
Had fun last year so came back again. Played from the tips which adds real challenges (maybe too much?) on holes like #6, 9, 12, and 18. Course was in great shape, except for the greens which still showed signs of aeration and sanding. (April review notes this too so...?) Undulating greens add challenges. Staff was great. Nothing to eat except snacks though. Right off I-75. Will be back.
Interesting layout/not for walking
We played the course yesterday on a stopover heading south. We were encouraged that there were few cars in the lot so expected a quick round. Guy in pro shop let us tee off early behind the group on the tee. It turned out that the "group" consisted of numerous guys in FIVE golf carts!
We played around these guys (not through) and only encountered two more singles the rest of the round.
Overall the other reviews of the course were bang on, in that the fairways were cut very short and were dry in most places, but drenched to the point of casual water in other places. The greens had been punched and sanded so you know the drill.
Overall we had a good time and would like to play the course again. Mr greens keeper please let fairway grow another 1/2 inch and discourage the gang of golfers from playing whatever game they were playing
Good course and nice greens
The course was a really nice lay out, the greens were in good shape, the value for the price of 18 holes was also very good. My only complaint was that the course was very wet in certain spots even though it hadn't rained for a couple of days. Proper drainage is an issue and there were a lot of muddy spots. I'm sure they're working on the drainage issue though.
Better Greens
Greens were dormant. Could keep them green year round like so other courses i've been to.
gorgeous
We went on a sunday morning for my buddies bachelor party. And the course is pretty remote and we were one of like 6 people on the course. Was nice to play our own pace. Thw course was gorgeous and very well maintained. Only thing is their system seems a little outdated. They didnt pull from the golfnow reservation and overcharged us. They charged us full price and we didnt notice till we were done golfing. But was worth it all the same. If ever back up that way we'll be playing it there again.
Relaxing round right off I-75
Fun and relaxing course in a nice, quiet area. It's right off of I-75 but it feels more secluded. Course was in surprisingly good shape considering how uncrowded it was. Fairways were great and greens rolled true aside from a couple holes where fungus had taken over. A few holes are bland but the majority of them are well designed and present interesting challenges. The par-5 12th hole is one of the most unique par 5s I have ever played.
I will definitely consider returning when traveling between GA and FL
Great Mix of Playability and Challenge: 4.5
Pine Hills offers a great variety of holes. Some wide open, some tight, doglegs both ways, and some forced carries. Bunkers (green and fairway), water, and marshy woods up the challenge. The course is in great condition: tee boxes, fairways, rough, and greens. Not too many flat putts on the greens, but they roll true. This hidden gem is right off I-75 - not that you'd know it though. Had a blast and will be back.
Minor quibbles: The course could be better marked. Stakes are better than stones or spinkler heads. And #12 is one weird hole. It's shaped like North and South America (seriously!#, with the tee at Tierra del Fuego and the green in Alaska. Unless you can drive the ball across the "Pacific" and land it in Mexico, you'll have to hit a blind cut to Brazil. Watch out for the "Atlantic" #hidden# on your second shot.
This course requires every shot in your bag.
Great Course. It requires every shot in your bag but yet it is not too difficult for the average player to enjoy. I will definitely play this one again soon.
NICE COURSE FOR THE MONEY
NICE COURSE FOR THE MONEY, GREAT LAYOUT, GREENS AND FAIRWAYS WERE IN GREAT SHAPE.
Course is always in good shape
We always enjoy this course. It is well maintained, and the staff is cordial. Keep up the good work Pine Hills !
Great!
This course I do not mind driving an hour and a half to play! It's always in great shape, and a few holes are quite challenging! Easy to get too as we'll! Right off the interstate! 2 thumbs up!
Good course day to day
Course has a mixture of easy and tough holes. Always in pretty good shape.
one of my favorite places to play. great lay out.
great place to play. With 5 different tee boxes, that makes it challenging for all levels of players. Well maintained. one of the top courses in middle Georgia. Nice homes around the course. When you add in the Golfnow discount, Its the very best place to play in all of middle Georgia.
A decent layout over S GA topography (flat) with lots of trees, water & sand that is very golfer friendly.
Almost all the holes allow for generous landing areas off the tee. The obvious exceptions are the par 4 #6 that is a dogleg right with two forced carries (a great hole!), and the par 5 #12 that begs for a cut shot from the back tee to get past the trees on the right and find the fairway that's guarded by a large lake on its left. (Not much room for error) There are lots of pine trees but not really any hills as is typical for S GA. There are several holes with water hazards, most of the holes are tree lined and most greens are guarded by bunkers but with a few exceptions, you have plenty of room to avoid the trouble. It is a pretty forgiving course. Almost all the greens were sanded because of what appeared to be a loss of grass and it appeared the back 2/3 of #11's green was being replaced. However, the greens rolled well enough, and they'd posted a sign at the clubhouse about repairs to the greens taking place. So, maybe the problem is seasonal and the issues with the greens will soon be resolved. It was a very enjoyable round of golf.
I love this course. It is very well maintained and the greens are in very good condition.
A very challenging course, plenty of sand and water to force making a good shot to score. Fairways are wide enough to err without severe penalty, but with the water force concentration.
Greens are moderate to large, not postage stamps. Surface is very putt able with a true roll. i will be playing here on a far more consistent basis.
Nice layout
We played this course twice in a few days, during a recent visit to the area. The first time was after a big rain, and the course was very wet and soft, but we liked the layout so came back a couple of days later and it had nicely dried out. Greens are in good shape, fast and true. Fairways are not grown in yet, but still playable. This is a fun course to play with some quite challenging and interesting holes.
Nice course with good greens
Played on a great GolfNow rate. It was a very good course even if i paid regular rate which I have done recently. A course must have good greens and this one does. rest of course is well maintained also. I will be back.
Very great maintained
I am member @ Southern Hills, this course is also in great shape, A little more open, very fun to play some great challenging holes. I had agreat time there. Play it you will love it.
