Hole 11 Green Photo submitted by baldeagle218 on 05/17/2019
For the money, it’s okay.
The cheapest tee time around here but for good reason. It’s not an awful course by any means. Layout is decent, fairways in good shape but it ends just about there. Most of the tee boxes are just sand, finding a place to tee off if you prefer grass is a challenge. The greens were the most disappointing part. To be fair, the weather hasn’t been great but these are inexcusable. Most public courses make the best out of the weather and the greens are at least putt-able. We had to pretty much make everything an auto-2 putt because these were up there with the worst I’ve seen. Sandy, long, like putting on a fairway. All in all, it’s playable for the price and I’d like to see the tee boxes and greens get better as spring comes around. People are great there which is nice.
Always nice
I play at Royal Lakes a few times a year and it is always a fun course to play. Considering the time of year the course was in pretty good condition. There were some areas that were muddy but I'm always happy for good enough weather to play in March. I will get out there again the next time I have a free day to play.
I played using Hot Deals and the price was fine. Had I paid the regular price of $60 I would consider that highway robbery.
It’s winter conditions so tee boxes and fairways are not great to begin with and 50% of the greens had some type of disease where they were not puttable
Without quality greens it really is not good golf. There were times I moved the ball 8-10 feet just so I could putt. That is not $60+ golf. I would never recommend playing above $45 max.
Save your money
Seriously they're charging $60 and up? Golf in Atlanta is getting way over-priced.
The greens are horrible and have been that way for quite some time.
First round of the season
Course was in decent shape for it still being February in North Georgia. It was wet in a few areas from recent rain. The greens could definitely use some work as they were very spotty and bumpy. Only downside of the day was the group of five in front of us that took 45 minutes to play 2 holes. They finally allowed us to play ahead at hole 4. Great day on the course though overall to start off the season. Staff was awesome as always!
I love it
The greens were not in good condition. They said those are under repair. Otherwise, we,me and my wife, enjoyed the play. We were lucky as the members of the club joined us. They guided us which direction to hit and some hazards that are unseen (water). The golf shop staff and the starter are both very pleasant to talk. Thank you,
Wish I could give it more
First the good: I love the holes. Interesting and fun shots. Staff is friendly, pace excellent and price is good. Now, the bad: big problems with the greens. Don’t know what happened but at times, I couldn’t find anyplace on the greens to put without going through huge patches of dead and very bumpy grass. Sand traps are more accurately described as holes filled with dirt. Some were impossible to get your club under the ball. Really hope they can make improvements as I remember this course being in much better shape in years gone by.
Worth the Drive
Very pleasant Saturday afternoon! Nice staff and good winter course conditions.
Too much leaves on course and green
It was great course set around water that gave us fun. But, we found too much leaves on entire course and greens during this fall season.
Tees and Greens 70’s Hairy
Maybe they just cross-seeded, but dang. Shaggy.
Lots of Dead Spot on the greens.
