No GolfNow
The course in ok shape green are good shape. They said they are not on Golf now. Me and my buddy will be back
Great hidden gem with no frills
Great course. Had a Sunday 8am tee time for 4. One was running slightly behind, but the course was very empty, so it was easy to push our time. Very few others on the course, and the ones there seemed like regulars. Pace of play was very quick. Greens were in “ok” shape, you could tell they were working on improving them. The rough was deep, if you don’t step on your ball, you’re probably not finding it. Would play again!
Good Course for a Small Town
This course is in surprisingly good condition, given that it's in a small Georgia town and it doesn't cost much to play. The front nine greens were only okay - they didn't look all that great but putted better than they looked. The back nine greens had good grass on them and putted very well at a good speed. The fairways have decent grass on them and the bunkers are well maintained. It's a fairly wide open and easy course, so it won't beat you up, but a few of the holes are surprisingly challenging. Overall a decent place to play, but it's not in the category of a higher priced course.
Decent For The Money
I drove 50 miles to Folkston from Florida to play this course. I would say for most people, it's worth the drive at least once, considering the price. The pace of play was excellent, however, I was literally the only person on the course. The front 9 was too easy with several par 4s under 300 yards. However, the back 9 is far more challenging with 3 par 5s and one par 4 that was 444 yards long, a hole I see almost no amateurs parring. The best thing about the course were the greens. They were in magnificent shape, but some fairways were a little long and looked a bit like a cow pasture. The only real improvement that needs to be made is the signs for each hole. Most were unreadable and I was a bit confused on the hole number.
Nice of course of the beaten path.
This course always surprises me in how good a shape it's in. Folkston is a small town and so you don't expect much. The Fairways were decent and the tee boxes were in decent shape. The greens were in excellent shape with good speed. The GolfNow rate was ridiculously low. I think if you try it once you would like it!
For the money can't be beat!!
The course was in great shape and for the value you can't beat it!
Gem of a course for the price
The guy that took this course over a few years ago has done wonders. It went from a cow pasture to a wonderful little course to play with quite a few challenging holes. EVERY green was imaculate. Couldn't believe the shape they were in, especially for December. It's a little rough around the edges, but playing surfaces are well maintained. A GREAT course for the price. Definitely worth playing. Bear with me when you get your cart. He has been putting money into the condition of the course, NOT the carts (YET!) I think he will get there.
Great course for the novice or experienced.
You will love playing the course in Folkston. It is well maintained and a lot of fun with ample challenges.
The course was in really great shape and the greens were excellent. This is a small town and you can really get great practice time while playing.
Really great course which anyone, whether novice or experienced, can enjoy.
Nice find
We tried to dodge the rain and decided to play Folkston. I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in great shape. It wasn't crowded and we played very quick. For the $$ we will be back.
Well worth the drive
This is by far the best dicount couse I have played. Although it is relatively short, it requires shot placement to score well. Best conditions on a non premium priced course I have found. Practice area is top notch with a well marked driving range, pitching green and bunkers. Greens are in great shape with one exception, and are slow compared to most of the burned out greens on comparably priced courses.
This course has deals for less than $20 that are tough to beat. Location, and not conditions, are the reason for the deep discounts here. It may be a little out of the way for some, but it is well worth the drive.
great course and pace of play
Greens were pristine and fairways were good. Did not see another golf till 10 hole. Cheap. Beer 2 bucks.
Folkston GC
Course was different. Played the 1st 9 holes in 1 hour. Reached #14 and they had allowed 7 people with 4 carts to play together. These people would not allow us to go through.
Therefore we stopped and will never go back.
Good course for the money
Good, somewhat challenging course for the money. Will play it again!
