All around nice
Good course conditions, friendly people and a fast pace of play. Greens are a little fast but is by no means a negative or takes from the overall experience.
Stay away
We begin our trip by seeing a $15 pay at course rate. When we arrive at the course, we are informed that “golfnow controls our rates and times”, which is entirely false and they will not redeem the advertised rate. We end up paying $30 to play which seems fair considering the course looks decent from the road. At the first tee, we realize this courses is 5500 yards from the tips, meaning my grandmother could come out here and break 80. We all take driver on the drivable hole 1 and hit wedges up, to realize we’re hitting on concrete. We continue with our round becoming more and more frustrated by the lack of care the greens see. They also feature aeration marks from the last aeration done in 1998, and also feature the smoothness of the gravel parking lot outside the clubhouse. With the course being so firm and short we’d have less than 80 yards into some holes, just to watch our wedges land short of front pins and roll straight off the back. By the time we make it to 9, we’re ready to leave, so we want to stop for drinks and just struggle through the rest. HOWEVER, it is discovered hole 9 and 10 are connected to eachother and have the clubhouse 2 miles away. An airport may be easier to navigate compared to the atrocious signage that leads to incorrect spots. We get to 12 tee, and all see the freshly renovated tee boxes, and nearly all break our ankles because the fresh sod is already dirt, by 14 we’re still trying to stop balls on greens and eventually run into another group on 15 tee. We accidentally hit into them despite landing the ball on the green because it rolled onto the next tee box. This group must have been my previously stated grandmother since they played like they have never lifted a club before . The pace was so terrible we left after 14 and will not be returning.
Slow Pace
It was a Friday and we got behind a group of 5 , im sure they were members, but we still had a good time !
Fun course layout
Great time out on the course! Greens fast and undulating so scary approach! Fairways in good shape but hilly and you’ll find uneven lies. Not much sand or water but still challenging and fun!
Forsytth
Tee boxes under renovation so quite a few temporary tees.
Forsyth Golf Coubrse
We were just passing by on our way home and decided to stop and play a round. We're glad we did. It is a hilly but fun course to play. Fairways were forgiving but still challenging. It does help to have someone who knows the course with on your first round (we did, luckily) It'll save you from what could be some serious mistakes. This will be a great course to play when the spring grass is grown and maintained. Even brown it was worth the stop to play.
Nice Little Course
Pretty nice, out of the way course.Fairways ok and playable.Greens just ok but puttable but quite small.
Nice Greens and Fairways!
Well worth the drive! Greens and fairways in fantastic shape. Target course. Bring your sharp approach game. Layout of the course leads to a few unnecessary bottlenecks but only because you have hacks thinking they will make a miraculous shot. If it weren’t for the 5-some of slow gamblers in front of us, we would have cruised around. The best value hands-down for your money within 75 miles of ATL. We will certainly be back.
We appreciate your group coming to play and the review! Apologies for the slow players infront of you. That is our biggest complaint. We are going to make some changes the first of the year. Look forward to your return!
Good course for the money.
Greens are the defense for this shortish course. Smallish, inverted bowls that are in near-perfect condition. - Very few ball marks and roll really nice. Some layout issues, should probably be a par 70. First time playing, I would play it again. It's a Mom and Pop course. Don't be a snob, fix your ball marks and enjoy the round!
Good Day
Course in good shape. Greens were fast but consistent.
Great course but would appreciate some precautions and better tee timing
Small clubhouse with some standard supplies, drinks, etc. Most people including the gentleman working were not wearing masks. Large bucket of balls is $7. Decent range but only mats to hit off of. Small putting green, no sand. I was grouped with a few guys who wanted to play another round at the last minute and had to share a cart with one of them. Would have preferred my own. Pace was a little slow for our group of now 4 so had a few groups of 2 play through. Course itself was great overall, nice fairways, consistent greens. Some areas of the rough might warrant a pick and place onto grass or you'll be hitting off dirt and rocks though. No beverage cart or turn at the clubhouse so make sure you bring what you need. Their hours are apparently 8:00-8:00 and prices vary between ~$24-28. If you catch a lower golfnow price, they'll honor it between 11-12 but otherwise you pay the difference there.
Great shape deceptive greens
This is the best shape this course has been in for years. The rain this summer has been a huge help. Fairways are full and cushy- perfect for iron play. The greens are deceptive with lots of breaks that you will not catch at first glance. They have really put some time and $$ into the course this past year and it shows
We apologize for the inconvenience to you and your group. The golf now situation is out of the city's control. Had a manager been on duty that day it could have been made right. Greens had been aerified the previous week. As for play volume we do a high amount of play and that makes rounds take longer . Again I do apologize for the inconvenience and if you are ever in the area again please allow us to make it right. Thank you sir
