Overall great course and staff.
Staff at front desk are always nice especially the woman working the bar. Went out of her way to make sure wants were fulfilled. Great staff. Course can vary here and there. Sometimes the greens will be very rough with tons of weeds other times it’s near perfect.
Good Course
A little tough getting on post but once your through the visitor’s center your good. The course layout is nice and open so not too many lost balls. The fairways are a little rough to drive on. From what I understand they have brand new tee boxes but they are getting destroyed. You find yourself teeing off five yards back trying to find a flat spot to set your feet. Greens were ok. Some better than others. The back nine is very pretty and has some nice elevation changes. They missed a big opportunity to integrate a good sized lake off the 12th or 13th hole. Looked like it was being used for disc golf or something. Overall an average course that could easily be very very nice with some better upkeep.
Under construction
Redoing all tee boxes, so there are temporary tees. Basically tee markers placed somewhere in the fairway or rough, so definitely a mixed bag. One of the par 3s isn’t even in play, so it’s a 17 hole course right now. Love that they are redoing the place, am excited to see the end result (wish they would go ahead and give up on the foot/disc golf nonsense on the Patton 9 and return that to golf too), but the course should be deeply discounted right now.
Fun course
For the price the the fairway and green conditions are pretty decent. Nice little restaurant that the 9th comes back around to. Couple of fun down hill holes
Ft. Moore Golf Course
The staff is extremely courteous and the pace of play moved along with no delay.
However, the course itself needs a LOT of work and attention. The greens are inundated with some type of invading weed. The fairways are extremely hard with small pebbles and bald spots. The rough is just that, rough.
I will not play this course again until it is improved.
I've never seen it so bad
I have played this course for over 20 years and I have never seen it looking so bad. Every green has poa annua and bahia infestations. The rough doesn't look like it has been cut in weeks and is mostly weeds. The fairways are shaggy and unkempt. Most of the tee boxes are more dirt than grass. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially at $42 a round.
Below the standard for a military golf course.
I was not impressed with this course. The driving range is raggedy and doesn’t have mats to hit off. The play of the course is confusing. I am comparing this golf course to the military golf courses in Hawaii. Both are ran by MWR, however the staff for the military golf courses in Hawaii are friendly and very helpful. The staff at this course is rude, impatient, impartial if you don’t look like they do. My whole experience there is the reason that as a veteran I will not play there anymore.
Great for an on-post course
Fat better than other military base courses I've played
No Marshall and too crowded.
On Post has so much potential just wish it was more organized and controlled. The poor girl in the pro shop does everything on her own. It is the most expensive course around and the most unorganized. Tee times should be more than 5-10 mins apart.
Great day. Only lost one ball.
It had been over 10 years since I played there. 27 holes of fun golf then. Now only 18 but very enjoyable to not so good players. Also the chance of meeting one of the great soldiers who are stationed there. Great money value also. I’m going back.
A decent 9 holes
Nothing great about these 9-holes but nothing bad either. Definitely some interesting hole configurations.
6 and 7 are tough
My least favorite of the 3 nine-hole courses at Fort Benning, but still a good course. 6 and 7 are pretty tough with a lot of water involved with both.
Great Course
Very fun course to play. Love the unique bench at the dog leg left 7. Can't wait until it opens again.
Don't waste your money
This should not even be called a golf course. Much of it is no more than a vacant field. The conditions are so bad it is hard to explain. The greens actually have mole cricket mounds all over them. The areas that are mowed have clumps of grass clippings. What a disappointment and waste of money I experienced this morning.
Neglected
I played this course again expecting the conditions to be improved with the great weather lately. I was disappointed. The course looked neglected and almost like a course in the early stages of abandonment. The fairways were full of weeds and un mowed. The greens were covered with weed pockets and very bumpy. There is hardpan everywhere, even in the middle of fairways. It is hard to image this is a rated course.
Needs Work
This course has a great layout, and is fun to play. However, there are definite signs of neglect. The greens are not in good condition and do not roll true. The fringes are unkept. The tee boxes are rough, uneven, and hairy. The fairways are nothing special, and you need to play "winter rules" year-round. There is great potential here, but the conditions can ruin your round.
