Golf course in decent shape considering all the rain
The course was wet in certain spots but overall not too bad. Was not rushed at all and for the money worth every penny. Some holes a bit challenging. Enjoyed our game.
The course need some tlc
The course need a lot
Of work, I lost several balls in the rough the grass was to high, one can go to any hole they wish, no golf attire , wear what ever you wish.
Good Time!
This course is becoming a favorite because of the hard work the staff is putting in to improve it. I have seen very noticeable improvements over the last year. Good time by all in our party.
Very Enjoyable!
Had a very good time playing here. Challenging Course, great staff, and very military friendly as military and police only pay the cart fee! Read many of the negative reviews and either the course has improved greatly, or they expected some PGA rated course. Will definitely be returning!
You get what you pay for
This course is on the pitiful side. But...it is clear that they are putting some money into the course to improve it. I just like to have a decent place to golf the balll around that is not too crowded and this course was exactly that. No frills. Just a simple muney.
Nice place but it’s in the middle of reconstruction
Greens were covered in sand and being reseeded so they were practically unplayable, other then that the course was nice the staff were nice. The price was excellent paid 28 bucks for myself and gf to play I imagine by the end of the summer this course will be finished and a beauty.
Great golf now value.
Thought this was well maintained for a county course. Enjoyed the layout the fairways were good for this time of year. I considered it a steal of a deal with my golf now vip package.
No tee times; the pace of play is fast during midday hours on weekdays; slows down on Saturdays and holidays. Holes 1-12 well designed and enjoyable. Holes 13-18 very hilly with numerous blind shots and not as well designed and maintained. Expect to lose a ball or 3 if you stray off the fairways. First 12 holes well worth the money. Also, soccer golf layout has been added on front 9 but does not interfere except flags are occasionally confusing.
Up and coming
Everything I read in previous reviews was apparent. The course is obviously being proactively cared for and improved. The course was fun and challenging with a few really beautiful holes. Greens were in good shape but slow.
For the price....
This course is a Jones County course, and it's fine for what it is. They don't have the play to support a resort style of course.
Greens were good. Fairways were sparse.
Only nick is that a lot of the tee boxes are set in the danger zone for other golfers teeing off from other holes...
Bang for your buck
Great course for the money. Challenging, with tricky greens above what’s expected for a small town course. Always well kept, friendly staff, and a very fun all around course.
What??
Awful experience. Booked 1 week in advance for my son and I. Made it through 6 holes before it started raining. We parked under a shelter and waited for 30 minutes. Still raining heavily, course soaking wet. Went to pro shop and informed them we made it through 6. I asked for a 9 hole raincheck. I was informed they do not give those. When asked why, i was told i should have known it was raining. Understood if i walked in, but this was booked a week in advance. No signs saying no rainchecks. Apparently, psychics are welcome....
Nice course
So everything was great except for the grass.
The greens were fine, the fairways played like the rough, and the roughs were horrible to play out of.
Course needs work
The course needs some work. The greens are not in very good shape at this point. The layout is average. Even though I booked a tee time on GolfNow they do not accept tee times so it is more of a first come first serve. Thankfully the cost to play was pretty low. Not much of a clubhouse and no real other amenities.
Stay away
I decided to play this course based on the reviews I read. I'm pretty sure I must have been reading the reviews of a different course because none of the good things I read were not apparent to me at all. The greens and fairways were in poor condition, the signage was in awful shape, the lady in the pro shop was not overly friendly either. I travel for work and decided to take a chance on this course...big mistake.
Course was in pretty good shape for the season. Greens were very fast.
come back in the summer
No grass to speak of and lightening fast greens.
I want to give this course another shot in the Summer after some good rain.
It is a narrow course with lots of woods. I really enjoyed the elevation and the way they designed the course to take advantage of the natural lay of the land. #3 was my favorite - a par 3 with the hole well below the elevated tee box.
Lots of up & down hill tee to green/fairway approaches.
