Harbor Club on Lake Oconee

Supposed to be one of the top courses in GA, did not feel like it. Restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast, range was closed, unbelievably wet in the fairways, and fungus holes on every green. Fortunately we had a discounted rate, but it was still disappointing overall.

Beautiful layout a scenery. Amazing greens. A lot of first patches in fairway, not much grass off the fairways. Probably just early in the season though

On my ratings I tried very hard to consider the course had experienced 3 inches of rain 2 days prior. And they had just aerated the greens. I think bottom line is that the course did not meet its reputation or price. I will try this course again this summer. I am confident it will change my review.

To the vast majority of golfers, Lake Oconee is associated entirely with the mega-community of Reynolds Lake Oconee and its (now) seven golf courses. The independent Harbor Club therefore flies under the radar – just how the folks there like it. The Tom Weiskopf golf course is charming and beautifully maintained, with a few peeks at the lake.

With a passionate membership, it is open to non-members but doesn’t heavily advertise this fact, so golfers who go to the effort of arranging a round here will feel like invited guests of a refined private club. The community has the distinction of being the post-retirement home of New York Yankees legend Mickey Mantle.

Enjoyed the course. Nice layout. Tough greens to read. Pace of play was very slow. Really enjoyed the couple we played with.

Cool course with fun tee shots, fast greens and it’s in great condition. Price is kinda steep but it’s the only public course nearby so makes sense. Worth a play
