ClubhouseReviews
Nice staff. Greens are awesome. New carts. Fairways are in poor shape. Always enjoy the course.
Fairways are firm, slightly thin grass but warmer weather should perk them up..greens are soft and true
Greens are awesome!
I have played this course many times in the past 7 years, and, as they have improved every time since, this is the absolute best that the greens have been! There is currently construction underway at #9 tee, but otherwise, the course overall is in great shape! Will definitely be back!
Early Spring Shaggy
Have to say, the greens were in excellent shape for late February. The warm days were starting make some of the "unwanted" grasses to start growing (especially in tee box areas) while the Bermuda fairways were still rather dormant. Time to get the mowers out for the tee boxes.
Green Greens
Course was in surprisingly good condition for mid-December. Fairways turning dormant. Leaf issues being addressed, although one leaf did cost me a par. Greens in good condition; recently dyed, but soft and true (except for an occasional leaf).
Griffin
This course has become very challenging with the addition of the Bermuda greens very tough. Some fairways need improvement but a very good course.
Fairways are in horrible shape, still dormant. Greens still in rough shape. Cart paths are the worst ever, and in horrible shape. One older gentleman in the pro shop was rude as possible, and did not like Golf Now players. Said we don't make a dime on you. Don't even consider using driving range. No tee times, just jump in and play. Pay no more that $12 and you will get your moneys worth.
Always Great I️ never have a bad day at City Griffin golf course...pace of play play is great and people are always willing to to play with if ur by urself
Fair Prices
The course needs work on some of the fairways and around the flags. Not bad for the price and to practice play.
Weathered the storm
Playing only a few days after the tropical storm (former Hurricane Irma), the course was in pretty good condition. Some sand traps were wet to downright flooded. Plenty of small limbs and leaves scattered on the edges and cart paths. The course lost several large trees, mostly oaks. Unfortunately, most of them were not in the ball's normal flight path...
Boom for your bucks
This is one of my favorite local courses to play. Very wide open but one of the most difficult but extremely fair courses in the area. A great challenge for lower handicap golfers while also being an enjoyable experience for higher handicaps.
Great place to unwind
Always enjoying playing city golf in Griffin! Great staff always friendly and pace of play is never slow
Good potential
The course has lots of potential. The clubhouse staff doesn't seem like they want to be there. Grass growing in the paved cart path that could easily be sprayed. It doesn't look like Ike they own a weed trimmer or a leaf blower as they seem to cut as close as they can to signs and such and then leave the dead grass piled up on steps and other places.
The greens were soft and only a couple had dead spots in them but the played nice. The fairways were firm and also had some dead spots and some that were just Ga clay.
I got confused twice by the layout and found myself on the wrong fairway which was possibly my fault.
For the price it's well worth it. If the course were maintained a little better it could be a nice course.
A little shaggy
For the money, this is a good course. Mowing this year needs to be continuous, which is better than drought conditions. Greens had been sanded recently presenting some challenges.
Great Bargain
The course is not perfect by any means. Greens were surprisingly in great shape. Most tee boxes were good, too. A couple needed cutting, but none were hacked up. A few bare (dirt) patches on the edges of some fairways. Keep it in the fairway, and it's not a problem. And for $8 with a cart, you couldn't beat it. And no crowd...
Great Value
This was my first time playing the course, and for a beginner it was a great price to get out with a laid back atmosphere.
Excellent Value
This is a great place to play. Course of wide open yet one of the most challenging courses in the immediate area. Course is in excellent condition for the price. You can almost always find a deal to play here for less than 20 dollars. No doubt the best deal around.
Griffin City Course
The greens were amazing! They have come a long way since I started playing here 7 years ago. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. This is a good course for beginners and experienced players alike. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone who plays golf!
