Nice Greens
Fun course with decent fairways and greens. Challenging layout
Good course for the price
Good course, very hilly, very close tee boxes to the green, greens were extremely good,
I would not wast my money.
The only thing good about this course is the greens. The tee boxes are mainly weeds, the fairways are mainly Rocky dirt with patches of weeds. I would not put my clubs through that again. It will scratch them up bad.
Meh..
This course needs A LOT of attention. Everything except the greens is a joke. Also, beware the locals, they like to wander the course and beg for things.
Really!!!
The fairways worst I have ever experienced. The greens awesome.
Greens
The Greens are excellent. The best ones around.
Now the bad news. The fairways and tee boxes need a lot of help. They are in really bad condention. So bad you might want your money back. So I suggest you roll them in the fairway.
So for me the Greens was so good I over liked the bad fairways and tee boxes.
This Course has horrible Fairways
I would not recommend this course to anyone due to the fairways being in horrible shape. Crab grass and dirt makes up a majority of all holes. One good thing is that the greens were in good shape but there is more to a course than that. I know it's been a hot summer but other public courses are maintaining their fairways and bunkers.
Great value!!!
Good course, great staff and pace of play was exceptional. Will definitely recommend to friends. City of Griffin takes care of the course.
Shot Makers Golf Course
Great OLD course. Conditions consistent with old links golf in my opinion. To score low you have to know where to play it. Course gives you a chance to recover with a good shot. Greens will hold if struck well. Although they sometimes don't look it but greens do roll true. Great staff. Charlie does a great job.
this course need a lot of work, very poor condition
greens was nice, fair ways need to be cut and lake of grass and the bunker need sand
All bad
Have played this course in past but have never seen it this bad. Tee boxes- bad, fairways- terrible, greens already dead. Will not pay to play there again.
Public course, its good for practice
Never played here before, but have a lot of courses to compare to. Fairways are sparse in cover. Roughs arent all that rough, grass in general is thin, and you do have some areas out in most of the fairways that hitting a good 2nd or 3rd shot is tough unless you are good at "picking" the golf ball off of very hard ground. Few areas not far off the fairway were barren, a good place to put nasty nick in an iron or break a wood.
I get that its a Muni course, but, the fairways really are hit or miss, no pun intended. The course has a lot of sloped fairways and greens, making placement at a real premium. What the course lacks in distance it makes up for a fair number of 1st and 2nd shots needing good placement for the follow up shot to have any chance at all.
I will play again, got a good deal thru GOlfNow. Staff is friendly, and the carts are well maintained.
Improved!
This is the first time I've played this course this year, but I've played here for 5-6 years. I have to say that this is the best shape that I have seen the course in. Parts of the fairway were bumpy and the traps flooded, but the greens were in great shape save a small portion of one. Maybe the fastest greens I've played this year.
Griffin
Loved the course. Plenty of water and traps to make it challenging. Well wort the $. Will be back.
The coarse is challenging.
The coarse is in great condition and the greens are in excellence shape.. Recommend to everyone to play this coarse.
Good Valued Course
I've played on several other higher cost/conditioned courses however this course has great value particular to the beginners and intermediate players. With this being a city course I am impressed with the upkeep and maintenance. I really enjoy myself each time I play there even though this time my game was way off. The greens were extremely fast (seemed like 12-14). I was never able to adjust my play however it was great training for me on my approach shots by trying to drop onto the green instead of my bump and run. The putting needed a surgical approach. The fairways are still dormant as other courses and I was able to get some nice rolls. I managed to pull a 323 yrd tee shot and averaged around 280-290 which I was pleased with. In closing this is a really good course for the money. I got it on a hot deal for $13.
Good course
Great course for the price. Green is kept up with too. They are located next to a city park too.
Golf Nut
For the price, this course exceeded my expectations. Rather short by most standards but has a few challenges with the wind. Bunkers needed sand but I'm sure that will be remedied in the coming months. Greens were in very good condition and rolled true.
