Good Course
Greens were in great shape! They had a true roll on the putting surface . I have played here quite a bit and this is the best I've seen them this time of year
Fantastic Value - Nice Course
Booked a GolfNow Hot-Rate for an 11:30 tee time, outstanding value! Arrived at 10:50 and was allowed to start immediately due to lack of golfers. The recent freezes in the area have browned the course, but the fairways are in decent condition and greens very good condition. It's a very comfortable course for those of us who average low-90s, with all but one par-5 reachable in 2. Course is longer than a country-club course but shorter than many of the more challenging courses in the area. It's a very good learning course and would be great for tournaments.
need better customer service
When I went to check in I was told the price quoted was wrong and they wouldn't honor the price quoted on line. I was shocked and disappointed that they made us pay the extra fees. They may have gotten a few extra dollars from me this time, but they lost a customer. I won't be back.
Great City Course
Griffin City Golf course is a really nice course and is great for the money! Staff friendly and other golfers are courteous and respectful.
Its the People that make the difference !
A Great Course to go and spend a day at. Greens are usually above average and Fairways average.
There is nothing special about it except the people that work there !
You will never feel pushed, most have manners and keep good pace.
Just an enjoyable,morning..
Fun course
Fun course. Not too hard or easy. Greens in good shape despite summer heat. Excellent priced beer available! Will play again in future.
Have always loved this course.
1st review!
Ever since I began playing competitive golf on the High School team as an 8th grader I've enjoyed coming to the Griffin City Golf Course. The price for the golf is more than adequate value when compared to the other local courses.
The value here is the layout, which I've always loved. Great mix of short doglegging par 4's, great birdie holes in short par 3s like 8 and a very reachable par 5 in hole 9. However, the course also has very challenging holes with longer par 3s (hole 6) and some great par 5s on the back nine. But the totality is a great, complete game challenge at a fair price. You'll be tested driving, iron play, approach game and short game.
The greens have turned over recently (gone to bermuda I think) and they could have been in better shape at the time of writing this review. My only outstanding complaint with Griffin City Golf Course is the amount of generous fairway present. I would love... just love to see this course have real rough that lined the fairways instead of mowed grass everywhere. It'd add to the challenge but would also really spice up the presentation.
corleone
Course for the price was in good shape. First time playing and I enjoyed it and will be back. A couple of greens were in a little rough shape but over all looks like they were working on them to make them better.
Great course for practice
Course was in decent condition except for the greens. Greens were mostly burnt up and filled with sand but for the price playable.
Griffin is a Great course
Had a Great round. The course was in excellent shape. Awesome value for the hot deal I got. I will be back!!!!
Great Course
The course was working on the greens on this day with sanding, so the greens were slow. However, this really did not affect play in anyway. The course was immaculate and a great value and place to play!
First time to this Municiple course
Was our first time playing this course. The staff was friendly and the carts were good. Course was in great condition and the greens were well kept. Great value for the price and we will be back to play.
Great for the money
Course was in great shape considering it is a city course and the price was cheap.
nice course
Nice course in the heart of the city of griffin and always a great value...
Cramped design
Many holes were so close together that that we had to wait for groups on other holes to play before we could take our shots. Greens and tee boxes for other holes were too close for comfort. The town was having a festival in the adjacent park and there were several holes with cars parked on the edge of the road right next to several fairways. This made golf a little uncomfortable. There were still aeriation holes in half of the greens that we were not made aware of before we played. Not much grass in the fairways.
CHALLENGING
COURSE IS VERY HILLY AND REQUIRED GOOD BALANCE TO PLAY THE VARIOUS LIES. GRASS WAS DORMANT DUE TO THE RECENT SNOWS.
Make the turn into trouble time 3
Enjoy playing course until I made turn to back nine. There was a threesome on number 10 that not only did not invite me to join, but more importantly would not let me (a single) play through. I waited to tee off, I waited to hit my approach shot to the green, I waited to pitch up to the green every single hole on the back nine. That was uncalled for, I should have been allow to hit through on number ten and they would not have ever seen me again.
More difficult than the slope indicated
The new greens are better than the old. Next they need real fairways. If you can play well here you can play even better on a coarse with fairways.
Excellent city course
Me and my friends frequent this course a few time a year and the greens are always in excellent condition course isn't extremely long and has a few eagle oppurnities for even the weekend golfer. Only down side to the course is the park sits in the middle of it and on holidays and weekend it might seem like your at a concert on certain holes. Besides that this is one of the vest courses on the south side of Atlanta for the money.
