Mountain golf
The course was in great shape, fairways were dormant, greens were green and the traps were raked. The cart have the GPS system and while that is nice I think the money would have been better spent on re-doing the cart paths. This is a fun course and I will be back.
Innsbrook
My wife and I played this course for the first time. It is a narrow course but the ground slops back to the fairway most of the time. They had new electric golf carts with GPS location. The program had a lot of information including how far you would be from the hole if you put your shot in a certain location. It also knew when you were going down a steep grade and severely restricted the speed you could go in that section. It also knew if you drove the cart into a "restricted area" It was nice that they had GPS on the cart because my golf watch didn't work because the watch has the front 9 holes as the back 9 holes.
Overall it was a great experience, it was a georgeous day, beautiful scenery and some challenging golf holes.
We are so glad you enjoyed your round. Thank you for taking the time to post a review.
Slow pace of play
The course needs marshals to help with the pace. It took us 5 hours to play 18 holes. Rude people behind us kept hitting into us. We could not speed up because there was a wait at every tee box. Not worth the $40 we paid to play.
Unfortunately the layout makes marshaling very difficult. We encourage golfers to phone the pro-shop with any on course problems so we can address them promptly. Sorry for your frustration, we will look to be better in the future.
Innsbruck Resort & Golf Club
Played this morning 10/17. Course was in excellent conditions.
Greens were perfect.. Course just got all NEW carts with GPS.
Played 18 holes in less than 3 hours. Can't say too much about
the course, staff, Everything excellent
Would definitely refer this course to everyone.. .
We are so glad you enjoyed your round. Thank you for taking the time to post a review.
Worth It
All in all, there are no really great courses in this area. This is the only one we looked into and was lauded as the best, the others being sub-par. The course was difficult with very tight fairways and lots of elevation changes. The fairways lacked some grass, indicative of the dry weather they'd been experiencing. The greens putted very well, not real fast, but consistent for sure. We played 18 Fri and again on Sat. Wouldn't play it routinely if it were one of my courses, but for the area, it's absolutely worth checking out.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review, and we hope to see you again at the course.
Soso
Was excited to play this course. Mountains of North Georgia. I was expecting great views on the course, but most holes were in valleys. Very quirky setup. Hard to figure out where to go to next hole sometimes as cart paths were closed for repairs I guess. Course conditions were average at best. Slow greens.
With the arrival of our new GPS fleet, any course routing issues have been fixed. We appreciate the feedback and look forward to offering you a better golf experience for your next round with us.
First time visit
Found staff very friendly. Although cart track only still enjoyed the day. Had fun with the obstacles and ready to go back. A friend recommended to us and if you like a challenge play this course.
tough course
Very tough course you're either all right or all wrong. Great course to learn how to scramble and keep your game on point, not it's boggies all day long. Lots of fun.
Loved elevated layout.
Absolutely, Enjoyed the layout through the 18th.
Played this course since 1997, when I have chance to get there.
Outstanding Course
I love it, and my wife really enjoyed the course. I view is breath taking and some of the hole are just beautiful. Some of the fair way need to be mowed. The green's were outstanding.
Interesting course
It was a nice course had some fun holes but for my third game ever it wasn't the best course for my skill level. There is a lot of up and down, constant winds, and no room for error. Don't get me wrong once I get better I will be back, because it is a really beautiful course.
Fun mountain course layout with very nice greens
The course layout was very fun and nice. The greens were in great shape and smooth. The fairways were not good at all. Many of the fairways were missing grass and just bare dirt. The driving range tee box was like hitting in a pasture.
A must play
If you have never played a mountain course this would be a good one to play. The conditions were good and though the greens were a little slow they were in very good condition. The fairways were mostly good with some bare spots. Most of the holes are either uphill or down with many great views. It is especially fun watching a well hit tee shot falling for so long down to the fairway. The signature 15th par 3 is one you need to play. I would love to be able to hit a bucket of balls from this tee. It is about the same distance down as it is out, so an iron that is hit high seems to fall forever. Plays at least 2 clubs shorter than the distance.
Mountain course a little rough around the edges
I enjoyed playing this true mountain course. There were a lot of uphill and downhill holes, but the course not too tight. The greens were excellent, but the fairways were spotty and it was generally a little rough around the edges. The driving range was small and the balls were old and worn out. It was the kind of course that would have been prime if it had been a little more "manicured." I got a great deal on Golfnow so it was definitely worth the money I paid.
A Good Layout with beautiful greens
I enjoyed playing Innsbruck. The greens were bent grass and beautiful. However, the fairways need a lot of work to match up with these greens. There were a lot of bad spots in the fairways. Overall though a good course.
Unbelievably poor conditions
Played here recently and cannot for the life of me see how anyone could rate this place above a one star! I have never in 35 years of playing golf seen a course in worse condition. The fairways are completely dead. Greens were surprisingly okay. Golf Now should not even include this course in their system until major changes are made in the fairway conditions. I was told at the end of the day by shop personnel that they had sent grass samples off to some place in Virginia to determine what is wrong. Unfortunate for this golf course in a beautiful setting to be in such condition. More unfortunate for the poor golfers who make the mistake of playing it after having driven over 40 miles.
Not bad for the money
This was the first time I'd ever seen this course but wasn't expecting much for the price we paid. The fairways need a lot of work which seems like it would be an easy fix but apparently they don't want to put much money back into this course to improve the quality. I will say the greens were in pretty good shape which was very surprising after seeing the fairways. For the discounted rate you can play through golfnow.com I would go again because it is beautiful up in the middle of the mountains!!!
Nice mountain track
First time playing after 8 years, course still a fun track with many challenging elevation changes on your shots. Greens were in good shape, the fairways a little rough, probably because of the harsh Winter.
Course was wide open on Sunday morning, and I played as a single in less than 3 hours, with a stop at the turn!
True mountain course
Innsbruck is always a fun time with a lot of narrow fairways where you're either in the fairway or in trouble! Beautiful scenery! Number 15 is one of the most intriguing holes I've ever seen personally. This round was cut short by a severe thunderstorm with lightning so we only got in 14 holes but still worth the money.
I'm coming back this Sunday (2/7) and bringing friends!
So glad you enjoyed your round here at Innsbruck, look forward to having you back. And trust us, if we could re-do our cart paths for anywhere near the cost of the GPS systems, they'd be done.
