Extremely slow & extremely sloping greens
The greens are extremely slow and extremely sloped. Many of the greens are "turtleback", making it very difficult to land near the hole & putt. Some of the tee boxes were similar, either "turtleback" or the opposite, "bowled". However, the fairways & the course layout were fine.
Slow greens and lots of players with no manners
First of all, the staff was very friendly especially the gentleman at the proshop. Course was just playable. Greens were very slow with lots of cushion (no ballmark repair was needed at all). Their fairways were like regular houses' backyard with some weeds and greens were actually the same condition as fairways of other high-end courses. Every hole was right next to each other without hazards or out-of-bounds so we had to face lots of players playing in our fairways. Most of players had no etiquette at all. They were loud right next to tee boxes and they just pulled carts right behind ours while we were hitting on tee boxes #not to mention that the group behind us just kept hitting balls although we were still waiting the group in front of us#. We just wanted to finish the game and leave so we didn't confront with them. Overall, I wouldn't go back personally because of overall atmosphere. If you see guys playing with regular t-shirts, would you go back?
Best hot dogs in town
Wide open municipal style course. Greens are slow and a little bumpy but in good shape. Great place to play for the value. Also, the best hot dogs on earth!!
The course was a great value.
Due to the weather, I paid very little to play at Cedar Lake yesterday. Well worth the gamble. Carla at check-in was very friendly and accommodating even though the course didn't make any money off the hot deal. Got my round in before the rain storm. Found the course to well maintained. Only complaint would be the slow greens. They were uniform and maintained, just slow. Maybe due to all the rain lately. Will definitely be back to see if the greens are faster on a sunny day.
OK for the money
I grew up playing this course. I played yesterday since my dad lives around the corner. The fairways are fine, greens are fine, pace of play was a little tough. Here is the problem. The entire course is on a hill. You are either hitting up hill or down hill. Ball is either above your feet or below your feet. You hit a green with a beautiful aproach, the ball is rolling down a hill. It is what it is, work with the geography, but it is a very unrewarding course. Good place to work on some shots at a cheap price I suppose. No beer cart girl either.
Good course, well maintained.
Got a good deal on the course. For the price it was a great course. Most fairways are open and there is room for forgiveness but it also has some holes that are more challenging. It is a good mix of everything. I plan on returning shortly.
This is a challenging course good testers.
Course is very nice and in the rolling hills of Monroe County Georgia. Greens are medium to small in size and smooth and challenging. I enjoyed the round as usual and play this course at least once a month during good weather months. Very good for the price.
Great value very friendly
Great course very friendly service enjoyed playing nice grounds had a great time would recommend to a lot of friends
Great value on this site have already told numerous people about it would love to see continued great savings
For the money you can't beat it
I've only been playing for about a year but love playing this course. The staff is always courteous and accomodating and I will definitely play there in the future.
Good value if you need a cheap round of golf
Had the afternoon to golf yesterday, but due to uncertain weather conditions I didn't want to come out of pocket too much. We chose this course because it is not too far from our house and it was a cheap rate. This is not a great conditioned course (fairways need a little work), but I have played it before and knew that going in. It is a pretty short course, only 6,500 from the tips, but has plenty of bite on the backside to make it a good challenge. Definitely enjoyed my afternoon out there and would play there again.
I loved the course ,it was very challenging.
It was a beautiful course ,greens were very challenging but overall it was fun.
best hot dogs in town
Great course to walk. The slow greens take time to get use to.
Good track for the money
The course has a nice layout that is good for all skill levels. Hopefully the grass will come back to life soon which will really enhance the experience. Greens are in pretty good shape. We had a slow group in front of us which is why the round took so long.
greens need a lot of work
would be a great course to play, but the greens need lots of work to be up to par with other courses i have played.
The course is wide opened , but challenging.
While the front nine is wide open, the back nine is quite a bite more challenging. Greens are medium to fast and narrow with crowns. Based on pin location can be challenging to keep the ball on the greens.
Good value
Being early February, pretty well maitained and well worth the money.
Great Value
Over-all the course was in pretty good shape for being early February. The biggest thing about the course is how open it is and believe me I need that. So if you are looking for a good time at golfing at a great deal try Ceder Lake.
Great value for the money.
With a little cash invested, this course could be returned to a top-tier public course level. I love the wide open fairways but finding your own fairway is sometimes difficult here. A slight alteration of the layout is needed.
Good Course For The Money
Course was in excellent condition considering it was mid January and we had a bunch of rain. Greens were a bit slow but in excellent condition overall. A little slow but it was Saturday afternoon.
A great golf value
This is a very friendly place to play golf. The staff is more than accomodating. It's a challenging course, but not to difficult. You can bring your cooler and most of the time they will let you tee off early. It's a great course for women, you actually get a break from the red tee's. It's one of my favorite courses.
