Don't go here
Tee times are stacked on top of each other. Tried to play back nine where nobody was at and staff were rude and would not allow this. Renovating and it's a mess out there.
Great value with golf now
Course in nice condition and obviously drains well with all the recent rain. Great value catching an afternoon golf now tee time.
The Club
I enjoy the course every time I play it!! You can tell that course has a new owner by the condition that it is in now. The course looks GREAT!! They have new carts and remodeling the club house. I see this course becoming one of my favorite courses!! Might become a member.
Needs work
Under new ownership and expect vast improvements to the course. Clubhouse and pool currently under renovation so temporary facilities. Very courteous staff. Short course that needs a lot of attention...fairways were barren with holes and crevices. Hard to know about greens since they were aerated 10 days prior and had not healed.
Under Renovation now, but has Potential
The Club at Lake Sinclair currently is not in great shape, but has some of the best potential in the area. Formerly the Milledgeville Country Club, this course has a stately layout that fits the mold of an old southern country club. Some of the views of Lake Sinclair are absolutely gorgeous, and a couple of the holes come close to lakefront land.
Though the course is not in the best shape from the tees and fairways, the greens are as true as can be, which is always nice to see on a course undergoing renovations. From the very back tees, the course barely reaches 6,000 yards, so obviously there is not a necessity for length off the tee.
As for the staff, they are as friendly as can be, and are doing a wonderful job working without a clubhouse (currently the main part of the renovation). The gentlemen in the clubhouse gave us the Twilight rate simply because it was less than 40 degrees and the wind was whipping quite hard.
Overall, I encourage people to play this course even through the renovation, and see awesome views of the lake and putt on some of the better greens in the area, and see exactly how nice of a course The Club will be after the renovation.
Great course with an even better staff. Going under new changes to the club and pro shop that will make the experience even better!
Decent course
Course is decent. Not worth the money though. Contrary to many reviews on here, the people in the pro shop are quite unfriendly. Out of the three times I've played
1. Showed up on time with my playing partner and the staff asked us to come back 4 hours later due to the greens being too cold to work on. Understandable.
2. Showed up on time, and the head pro was super rude, and basically fussed at me for being there because the greens had a fungus and there was no way I could play. They asked me to come back the next day after a 40 minute drive.
3. Decided to give this course one last shot, as it can be a fun course if the price is right. I got stuck in morning traffic, and was 7-10 minutes late. 8:10 tee time, few cars in lot. The pro and the young female staff member stood there looking disapprovingly as I walked in. I offered a friendly greeting and they stood there while she typed on the computer. Then pro, in his typical fashion, very condescendingly that if I wasn't going to get there on time then to call him. I had to start on the back 9, and by the time I had made it around to the front 9 , they had let people tee off on #1. A five some, and foursomes in front of me, and a threesome behind me. Caused quite a traffic jam for a single to work through. Won't be back to this course any time soon.
Good Outing
This club has been recently purchased and is in great shape for the weather that has been in Central Georgia in the last couple of months. The greens were in very good shape and the fairways held well in spite of the drought of the later summer and fall. As usual David Franklin and his staff were helpful and appreciative of our play.
Short course but challenging.
I have played MCC many times, it is a short course but the greens make it very challenging course. It is a par 71 with only 3 par 5s. The fairways were in good condition but the greens were in very good condition, there has been a drought and this was to be expected.
Best Local course
Under new ownership. Course is in good shape considering we have had little rain.
Hope the new owners fix up the off course amenities then I will consider joining the club.
True Greens
Great day to play golf, not crowded. The grounds personnel have done a great job maintaining the course, sand traps, and especially the greens. The staff always makes you feel welcomed.
This course needs maintenance
Most of the greens have disease, fairways have very little Bermuda or grass, mainly weeds, dirt and/or sand. most tee boxes dirt, course needs maintenance. Overpriced! Played for the first time and will go to little fishing creek from now on.
Great course, low budget.
Some holes have fairways cut, some don't. Greens had a ton of contamination with weeds and they had recently top dressed to try to remedy the situation but our putts were often bouncing on the green. Other than that, we had the course to ourselves for most of the morning and enjoyed playing alongside the beautiful Lake Sinclair
Terrible greens
These used to be some of the best greens in the area. Now they are unplayable because of the weeds that have popped up on almost each and every green. The fairways have been a disappointment for some time, but were tolerable because of the great greens, but no anymore. I won't be wasting my money out here anytime soon.
I played it
As courses go it was okay.I drove there just to play this course. I would not do it again. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either.
