TIming is everything
I love this course and have played it many times. However, this week was rough. Due to the high volume of rain recently, there was a lot of standing water and areas in need of repair as people have driven carts through flooded areas. I am sure they will get it back into the beautiful condition it normally is soon.
Hidden Gem!
It has been 30 years since I played Trident Lakes Golf Course. I remember playing when I was stationed in Kings Bay. That is what brought me back. I am overly pleased with the way the course has grown. The upkeep of the course and amenities rival any course in the JAX area!!
Great Value
It's always a pleasure playing at Trident Lakes. My only complaint is the greens typically run very slow. I understand it's a cost saving measure and that's fine because greens fees are always very reasonable. Also, food and beers in the pro shop is reasonable as well, so I will shut up about the greens. Also, the turf quality throughout the course is excellent. And it's an Arthur Hills design as well. A noted golf architect who really set up some interesting holes. Our group always comes back to Trident Lakes.
Great course but no frills
Greens, fairways, tee boxes..... all excellent. Only real complaint is no cart person on course and no snack bar at the clubhouse. So pack in what you are drinking and plenty of ice. The on course water was luke warm and tasted as if it came out of a hose. Again, the course is great. Not perfect and not the hardest layout, but a good enjoyable round of golf. Played 18 in about 4 hours. Outside of the golf though, it left a bit to be desired.
Fairways in great conditions; greens a little slow and bumpy from recent punch and sand but certainly playable. A very good day of golf our foursome will definitely return
A good choice
Budget golf at its best! Tees, fairways and greens in good condition. Miss the fairway and you might get penalized with a poor lie. Areas around the greens had good grass coverage. Sand traps had powdery sand. Just sucks when your ball ends up in a footprint someone didn’t bother to rake. Greens had been sanded recently so there was some of that remaining but greens still rolled well. Course layout is challenging with several water hazards and a good variety of shots to contend with. Another positive experience for me. Worth the 43 mile drive from my home in Jacksonville.
Greens were just sanded so putting was rather off
Guess they were plugged maybe a month ago, so they're gonna come in nice
Well worth the drive from Jax
3 hour round for a two some
Of course very hot at 11-2
Great course
Unfortunately it was almost 100 degrees when I played, which is not the fault of the course naturally, but a good layout. Greens were sanded which was not helpful to putting. I recommend the course, and I'll play again when its cooler outside.
Golfer friendly course
After all of the heavy rains in south Georgia these past two weeks This golf course was in excellent shape. There are a couple of rough spots on some of the greens, fairways and tee boxes but overall it is in excellent shape. I played with a hot deal and it was one of the best values of condition versus amount paid, If you are at Jekyll Island or Saint Simons take the drive south and enjoy this golf course for much less than you would pay on these two islands.
Big Improvement
Trident has been on our weekly schedule a lot of 2023. It had been about six weeks since the last round.
The course has improved dramatically. Greens were hard but fair. Attention to detail is obvious.
Temperature will be a problem for a while, but they are working hard to make each round a good experience.
