New Greens.
New Greens are very appealing.
Green fees have increased. I don’t like.
The tee boxes still need improvement.
Suggestion: why not place “sand boxes with a scoop” on each of par-3 tee boxes. (They are in a terrible condition.) Players do not run back to his/ her cart to bring sand to fill the divot he/she has just created. Makes sense?
Think about it!
Greens improving
First month of redone greens. Still not smooth or consistent. But much better than the temps!
New greens BUT higher green fees!
It takes longer than I used to be you know my age I guess
Probably worth the drive
The course, itself, is a nice layout with reasonably generous fairways. Although the bermuda rough was cut fairly low it was nevertheless easy to lose a ball if it sank to the bottom and, by its own nature, hard to play out of. Together with the hilliness of the terrain, it makes for a challenging round of golf even for the lower handicappers. If you walk, you'd better be in great physical shape.
In the main the fairways and roughs were in very good shape - no real reason to play "winter rules." Like most public courses, the traps were okay, at best.
They have apparently changed the grass on the greens within the last 6 - 12 months. Give it another growing season and they will be spectacular. They are fairly good as it is now.
New greens open
After months of temporary greens, the course now has new greens. Some of the greens had thin spots with a dusting of sand and were a little bumpy in spots. Overall, the new greens were playable but extremely slow. The rest of the course is in good condition, but like most courses this time of year, it has very punishing rough. Good value and worth the long drive to get there.
Golf is always a challenge
The “new” greens were not in great condition. They were super hard and over sanded. The course in general has not been maintained very well. The tee boxes were chewed up. Pace of play was pretty slow due to a push cart group that would not allow cart riders to play through.
New greens
Course has gone through green replacement. We were excited to play the new greens. They still have a little maturing to go - but it was great to be there on the first day of use.
No greens
I’ve never played here and when I first got a look the greens looked nice and so did the course but once we started the first hole we realized there were no greens and the greens were just dyed onto the fairway. There was no heads up either.
Temporary greens made for a rough day
The good news is that the greens should be open in a couple of weeks. The bad news is until that’s done, it’s not a great experience.
TEMPORARY GREENS
The greens were closed in April and are still closed. The course is in terrible shape. The fact that they are still charging as much as they are is disappointing.
Temporary Greens! No fun
All the greens are temporary. I skip putting because putting on these temporary green would mess up my putting skills. Will wait until Oct. 1st when the regular greens are open with a 100% increase on green fees! Bad!
Not impressed
This is the first course I’ve played that I told myself I wouldn’t come back to. The majority of the fairways were so wet it was ridiculous. My waterproof golf shoes were soaked. Terrible landscaping. Water sprinklers randomly going off 6 inches from where we tee off on one hole.
Also I get the greens are being worked on, but even everything around them was not great, ankle deep grass in the majority of the fairways. I’ve played courses almost half the cost in better conditions. I hope whoever goes has a better dryer experience.
Work in progress.
Course is in poor shape right now. All of the greens are being redone. If this condition was communicated before playing and cost adjustments made this would be understandable but this was not done. Just tell me before hand and allow me the option to continue or not.
No Greens at this time
Was not informed, but the greens are being redone, all holes are on temporary greens. Thus would not recommend for the next 2 or 3 months. Very disappointed that I did not know! Wasted my fees
Currently Unplayable and Won't be Played by Me Again
Every green is being redone at the same time. This alone would be reason enough to not play this course, so why was the rough not cut also? Was it laziness, or did they feel that they needed to compensate for all of the shortened holes? It was challenging enough without having accurate yardage anywhere, that there was no reason for the rest of the course not to be maintained. I booked this online and nowhere did it say that every green would be under construction. If it had, I wouldn't have attempted to play it, but I would have come back because I like the course and it is conveniently located for us. As it stands, I don't know that I will play here again. When we arrived we asked the guy in the proshop where everyone was because it was considerably less busy than usual. We asked if the heat was responsible and he said that "the chance of rain must have been keeping people away". It was not the heat nor the"chance of rain". It was due to the fact that every green looks like a baseball infield and the makeshift greens mowed into the fairway rendered all the yardage markers unusable, putts impossible and couldn't be seen from the fairway without driving most of the way to the "green" in some cases. After 6 holes and numerous lost balls due to the rough being ridiculously high, we gave up. When I got back to the proshop and mentioned that he didn't tell us anything about the condition of the course and nowhere did it say anything about the course when I booked it that I would like a refund. He said that the best that he could do was a raincheck that would only be good until October. I asked when the construction was going to be completed and was met with silence. I hate to take this course out of my repertoire, but I feel that I don't have a choice after having been treated like this.
Temporary Greens
The greens are being rebuilt, so it’s no fun. However, the fairways are in the best condition in years. Tee boxes are still in terrible condition, especially par-3 tee boxes.Hope
they will do something about them.
