Good day out
This course was well laid out with wide fairways and good greens. Unfortunately some of the greens on the back 9 showed signs of wear and will take some experienced work from the green keeping staff to recover them. That said it did not detract from an enjoyable game.
A great value
A quiet course with elevated greens. Fun and challenging. A great value for golf in Savannah.
Rolling Greens!
Played this course before and had a great time. The fairways are good and don’t pose a lot of issues. It’s the GREENS! They are ELEVATED and oh my gosh! You better have a light touch to chip them up! They roll! The greens need better grass but they are still fun! Great place to play! Nothing fancy but fun!
Best course and price!
Love the course, staff and price but greens need work.
Tough winter conditions
Grass had not started growing, which will help condition of fairways and greens. Would definitely play again. Small turtleback greens made it tough to hit.
Great place to play
The staff was extraordinary, the course was in good shape for February. Will come back next year.
Do not waste your money
This course is in bad shape from tee boxes to fairways to greens. Most of the course is mud and all the greens are elevated. The course is pretty much an eye sore. If you want to play a nice military course go to Beaufort and Play at Parris Island. I hope this review helps your decision making process.
Very nice layout that has fallen into some neglect.
Nice Layout
We played as a twosome and felt like we were the only ones on the course most of the time. The layout is nice and pretty flat. Water comes into play on some holes. Some of the tee boxes were pretty bare. Overall it’s a nice experience and we’re planning to play it again.
Excellent amateur golf experience
After navigating the Army Base security and wandering a few lovely base roadways, the golf was great! I will definitely be back…
Easy to play hard to get to!!
Unfortunately it took me 40 minutes to find the way into the base! Several gates were either permanently or temporarily closed or blocked off! The course is a good layout but in mediocre condition, but you get what you pay for!! Any day on a golf course is better than a day at work!!
Hunter is a value
The pace of play was very good. Fairways were in good shape except for some bare areas. 4 or 5 greens on the back had bare spots. Not a tournament course but if you are okay with moving your ball a foot or two to a better hitting area, then the course is playable. Good value
