Golf Club of South Georgia

Realize we played in winter time, did expect greens to be over seeded but were not, some were okay and some were in very bad condition. Fairways were thin but playable. Would only play this course again in summer time when greens and fairways are green. Great layout with sand and water but fair in all places.

May have been worse golf cart ever, gas and would not run smooth constantly jerked and brakes well they were not existing. Also the paths were broken with tree roots coming up through them, tired to drive off paths all we could due to condition. No food or beverage. Course not marked very well. Hard to believe they say this is third ranked course in GA.

Love the course. Fairways was excellent. And the greens was perfect . I really enjoyed the island green #16.

Has a great challenging design. Always a great course to play.

I've played this course at least 100 times over the past 10-15 years and it's always a great time playing golf. Not only is it only 2-3 miles from my house, its always in great shape compared to other courses in adjacent counties. The best part about my most recent round was the cool temperatures in the late afternoon and the great deal my partners and I received by booking thru GolfNow! This course is definitely worth a shot!

The Golf Club of South Georgia is a fun course to play. The greens and fairways are much better now than they were in early May 2015. The course is well worth the money and moderately challenging from the tips.

The perfect storm. Travelling through GA where the whole state was experiencing havy rain from 6 AM - 1 PM except this area, fit my timeline so booked the hotdeal for a great bargain. Showed up about an hour early, the course was dry and no one was there so they let me do what I wanted and go play. Course navigation somewhat tricky follow the scorecard but easy to take a wrong turn. Played the tips since I rarely get the opportunity when paired with other players or the course is busy. Very nice course layout with quite a few doglegs and some strong 450 yd straight par fours. Tees and fairways in good condition, bunkers in need of repair and sand consistency. Greens not fully grown in yet and somewhat bumpy on short putts, long putts rolled OK. Cartpaths a little torn up. Diffucult to figure out approach yardages, since only the standard center of faiway markers were there but not easily seen, they do have three pins positions but they were inconsistent today where they did not follow the number code and all the flags are the same color, again scorecard helps figure out the yardages with + and - center location, along with that the GPS program I use did not have the course, so had to use old school math. Liked the course and would play often if in the area. New clubhouse to open soon.

Great greens, bunkers, fairways, very playable!Only downside was driving range.

Temporary club house need some cleaning. Bathroom very dirty. Very nice staff and the golf course is in good condition. Need to improve bunkers & cart paths but this course is a must play if you're in the area.

This course is just off I-75. Rolling terrain through the woods and a pecan grove. The day was miserable and the course was soggy from recent rains, but played well. Greens are very good, more tiered than undulating. (Seems like every hole was on the back shelf, perhaps for dryness.) Fairways are what you'd expect in Tift County, the home of Tift turf. The course is very playable with a little it of everything: water, bunkers (fairway and greenside), doglegs. The new clubhouse should be ready soon. Will return when it's ready and weather is better.

Minor downsides: course is poorly marked (100-150-200 stones only) and hole routing is confusing. In both cases, the scorecard helps, but more is needed. Asphalt cart paths are deteriorating badly in some places.

For the price, best buy. Course is always in good shape.

This course was in great shape. Very nice weather led to a great golf experience. Would recommend this course. New Clubhouse nearing completion as well.

I just moved to Ga and am looking for a course to call my own...This one just may be that course. We played on a Friday mid-morning and the course was in great shape. the pace of play moved along very nicely and all in all had a great day of golf. They are in the process of building a new club house and when that gets finished, I believe this will be the course to play every week.

Awesome layout. Greens were very good, fairways are excellent. Bunkers are below average. You have to hit every club in your bag. Several holes you can't hit driver on. Greens were areated recently, but still in good shape. I would take a range finder if it is your first time playing. Island green #17. All the par fives are strategy holes. Play this course if driving on 75 south of macon.

This course has some of the best greens of any course in South GA. The fairways and other areas are well kept also. The bunkers are edged beautifully but lack quality sand throughout the entire course. The sand alone would out this course on another level. They are currently constructing a new clubhouse and trying to develop the surrounding community so looking forward to seeing what this course can become. 3 things this course lacks: confusing cart paths, lack of cart paths, and water coolers. Overall a great course off the radar, but with a lot of untapped potential.

This course is amazing! The course is so well kept and how it is laid out is so beautiful! You can tell that they care about the course conditions more than anything else! Go Play this course you will not regret it!!

Excellent layout forces different types of shots. Very pretty course probably spectacular later spring/summer. Pecan trees line numerous fairways, water holed and many bunkers, Very enjoyable....
