The Landings Golf Club - Trestle/Bluff

After my round at Landings, I can truly say that for once, the rumors are real. I had an awesome time at Landings, even though I didn't break 100, but I never do so who cares! Lol. Everything from the friendly staff to my PAR on the famous "Bluff" was everything I wished it to be. Every GA golfer should play at Landings at least once. It was a bit muddy and some of bunkers had standing water, but that was to be expected with the weather we had two days before. Can't wait til my next round on the Trestle/Bluff!

But that day is gone. Flooded fairways and rock hard painted greens.

Enjoyed this course. It was still in winter conditions, so fairway condition was just ok. Greens were great, if not that fast. Layout was fun. Friendly staff. Would like to see it in season with grass growing.

Above average greens. Good routing in residential development.
Holes 14-16 not very well designed. Pitiful cart paths...broken up concrete...no wonder the members don't use them. South Georgia needs rain...this would help this course. The sand traps need work...dog tracks, members don't know how to use a rake, etc.

Better condition than I have seen in years. Less weeds, bunkers were actually trimmed and scraped.

the greens do not roll very "true" and the cart paths are a mess. I have never had such a bumpy ride around a golf course. Also there is a hole that is horribly designed. A perfect tee shot has you sitting in weeds and dead grass, however a good tee shot (shorter) in "good grass" and you cant even see the green. Its like they built a 17 hole golf course by mistake and then had to makeshift an extra hole. Eh.

The Landings is a great course. (The 7/24 review about needing work must be for another course.) It is long and challenging, with OB and hazards abounding. But six sets of tees let you choose your skill level. The greens aren't too tough, but can run quick even in winter. With all the rain, the rough is up - adding to the challenge. New management is in place and has upgraded the irrigation to keep things green. Holes 2-5 are about the toughest set around including the 600+ yard 4th along the swamp. Practice areas are unsurpassed: large range and putting green, separate chipping green with bunker, even a bunker on the range. Pace of play is rarely an issue. Great people too.

I played the Landings a few months earlier and it was really in poor shape. I believe a new superintendent started in early July and the course is in much better shape from the fairways to the greens. The greens looked great but could be a touch faster. We played on a Sunday and there were very few people on the course. The cart paths need some work but I come for the golf so that is not a big issue for me. I will definitely come back and hope that the course continues to improve. If you haven't played it lately its worth another try.

The Landings is still as challenging as it ever was. The greens are fast and the fairways are long. I think #14 has got to be the hardest hole in middle Georgia. One of the best things is it has 6 sets of tees, so you can literally bring the whole family and they all can play. It has excellent practice facilities to work on all parts of your game. Top instructors with modern technology. It’s the very best program outside of Atlanta for introducing and teaching young people about the game of golf. Which is something we need a lot more of.

The course is very very long. Some of the holes are 600+ yards. Also one of the par 3's is 210+ yards. I like this though I hit my clubs far and it is nice to be able to hit driver off of almost every tee box. I also like that I can use different club to the green. On must golf courses I am using wedge - 8 iron on my second shot. On this golf course I got to use everything. The greens very nice. The putted very true and they were not to fast either.

Friendly staff, well designed course with one exception (150-160 yard uphill approach over water with no option to layup), but with more than a few fun holes too. Greens were great, fairways haven't filled in yet, but its mid-March. I look forward to playing the course again. Great value in nice surroundings.

Like most affordable golf courses the grass is dormant for the winter season. The cart paths need some TLC, the bunkers have good sand in them, the greens are undulating and quick yet receptive to fwy woods. If your passing thru mid ga and looking for a challenge you can find it right here. OB is on every hole with ample slop and elevation change throughout the course. You can hit every club in your bag on this course.

The course is in great shape for the season. I do highly recommend! Staff are very friendly! Will be back soon.

Very nice course. Greens are in excellent shape. Very few people on the course when I played done in 3 hrs. Very tight, houses on both sides of the fairway on many holes. Good value for what I paid. Will return in the future.

This course is in great shape. The only issues I have are the cart paths are needing a ton of attention and the greens keeping staff is rude and unpleasant. The greens are in great shape....there are a few that aren't spot on, but for what I paid I can't complain. The other bad thing was do not go in morning. The staff at front desk is awesome, but the greens crew will not step out of way or wait for your tee shot. They just keep on mowing and doing the business they were planning on doing. Had one start weed whacking right in the middle of my back swing on number 8. You talk about one mad golfer! Overall, If you are looking for a course in quality shape and a great price....this is the course for you.
