Nice open course Photo submitted by Devin1073124 on 04/27/2013
pace of plays does not exist
Course is in good shape, and the people are friendly enough, but between the fivesomes and the 35 yr old male foursomes who do not rake any traps, and generally disrespect the course, the pace of play is abysmal. 5 hours and 15 min on Saturday, and 5 hours and 10 min on Sunday.
Come on, 4 and a half hours is excruciating, this is like sitting in a dentist's chair. I don' t care who you are, you cannot keep a swing for more than 5 hours. I have played in many a club championship, and no one, I mean no one, plays as slow as the people I observed. This is not the people who run the course's fault, but the management who allow fivesomes without a course marshall. Pace of place is integral to the enjoyment of a round, and if St. Andrew's can insist on a 3 and 3/4 hour round of golf, over five hours is just painful. you simply can't get into a rhythm or flow. Again, the people are kind, but are employed at the whim of the management. Shame on the management for showing such disrespect for the paying customers.
Wonderful Experience
The course was in very good shape. The greens were very nice. Outside of the wind, it was a great day of golf.
Average course,slow play
I have played this course several times and the place of play is usually slow. A ranger would really help.
Great Price
I was very satisfied with the conditions of the course
Great Value for nice course
Enjoyed our round at Hawaii Prince. Pace of play was excelllent. Course was in good shape - a few holes had recently been aerated and impacted play but it was not enough to spoil a really fun round.
A Work in Progress
Only 18 holes (A+B) available instead of 27 because of renovations on "C" which made play slower than usual.
Aeration of the greens made them slower and putting challenging.
Play out of bunkers continues to be near to impossible because of very little sand and rock hard underneath. Funny considering all the beautiful sand in the beach areas.
Still my favorite course though !
Should alert when greens aerated
Pace was better this time but I wouldn’t have played if I had known the greens were aerated.
Another overpriced Hawaii Golf Course
Pro Shop guy was a not friendly once he knew I was a GolfNow patron(GolfNow needs to fix this, this is very common experience, probably because the service charges they experience), bad attitude, the lady there was very nice and helpful, they're management needs to know they have guys working the front desk not very courteous. They discounted the residents but not the non residents for the aerification. The course was in good condition but had one nine under aerification conditions. No marshals therefore you had groups holding up play all day long.
Blown Away
Played this course several times + Love it !
But playing into a +2-3 'Club' wind made it more challenging than normal.
The only Negative I have about this course and several others that I've played here are that the Sand Traps are HORRIBLE !
They all have little to no sand in them and are rock hard underneath, making it impossible to make a nice explosive sand shot out.
Just avoid them, LOL, and have a Great game.
Beware the Trades
Always fun, the trade winds were particularly strong the day I played. Makes it very, very challenging. But, lots of fun. Greens were lightning fast, but fair.
Nice course. SLOW play
We had to wait between 5 and 15 minutes at every hole. We had to sit in the cart over an hour. We are not use to this. Monitors on the course ask people to move along.
Fairly flat, fast greens, ball rolls true
Some people I have joined here do not find this course challenging, but I find it fun and fair. When the trade winds blow, I find it quite challenging since the greens are fast already, tricky with the winds. I like the course, have played many times. Greens always in good shape, very little dead spots throughout course.
Windy but Fun
We were paired with 2 locals who were very friendly. We enjoyed the course, however the wind stole a few shots.
