Raccoon Creek Golf Course
About
The Raccoon Creek Golf Course is a public, 18-hole golf course in Littleton. It covers 7,045 yards from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course has some difficult elements, such as elevation changes, but it is still beginner-friendly. Water hazards come into play on seventeen holes. The most difficult hole of the course, one of the most difficult in Colorado according to the Colorado Golf Associates, is the par-3 17th hole. The hole runs alongside a creek, the creek that the course is named after, and requires a shot over a portion of it to a very well protected green.

Painfully slow
After finishing 15 and seeing the group in front not teeing off, I decided that was enough fun for one day. It was slow from the first tee. At the time I left, I was already at 4.5 hours. I estimate it would have been a 5.5 hour round had I finished.
Great layout
Greens tough for first timer rolled well hard to read Enjoyed every bit of the course
Mid March round
Normal pace of play for a Sunday 4:40. Easy course fun to play greens good speed for March.
This course has lost its way, would not recommend
I use to play this course many years ago and was excited to return after ten years as it was always a pretty solid course. I pull up to find what looks like a new clubhouse but couldn't tell as there were no bag stands anywhere? So I figure it must be it so I just lay my bag on the grass as I have a cart bag. I pay and ask why there are no bag stands anywhere and he couldn't give me a answer other than to say it was a good question. Ok I head to the range to find there are no stands there either? Lay by bag on the ground again then head to the first tee. There I'm met by a starter who tells me as a single I have to combine with the other single as they don't allow more than two carts per foursome? I've been golfing all my life and I've never heard that. Not the biggest deal but these rules are starting to get wierd and it only gets worse after this! After a stranger and I combine carts we head out. The carts look pretty nice with integrated GPS. After finishing the first hole I look for a ball washer on the cart but don't find one, no big deal I'm sure I'll find one at the next hole. Nope! Not a single ball washer on the entire golf course! It gets better! Not only is there no ball washers but there is also no water anywhere on the course! In 30 years golfing around the country I've never seen such a thing. To top it off the course is in poor condition. Several fairways were fried (9 comes to mind) and the greens were below average. The best was when a marshall came by for the first time at hole 15 and asked if we needed water. It was at this time I asked him what was going at this course and he was very shady about it and said he didn't really know why you can't wash your golf balls or get water on this course. He did mumble something about covid before changing the subject again. I asked him what covid had to do with washing your golf ball and he literally just drove off! Unreal. So if you want to pay $100 to play golf on a course in poor condition, with dirty golf balls, where you lay your bag on the grass, and have no water in the scorching sun this is definitely the place for you! I don't know if they're covid crazy or just extremely cheap but this place is terrible. I won't be playing again and definitely would not recommend. Beware!
Course in in good shape from tee to green. Only exception are the sand traps. Not much sand and mostly unraked and little sand/more hardpack and mud.
Great track but the food is awful
DO NOT ORDER the breakfast burrito! Fake and gross. Friendly staff and course is lovely.
Play it again
Played a later tee time 3:00 pm. Finished 18 holes. Course was in great condition except one hole. Bunker was ground under repair. Would definitely recommend the course and would play it again.

Tee marker colors difficult to see; not enough color. No golf ball washers or drinking water on the course. Nice that they brought out water in a cart. Need to raise the water container sprocket on the back of the cart as it was almost at ground level.
The distance feature on our cart (#1) did not work. Some sand traps had little or no sand in them.
Pace of play was decent.
Good Course!
Great layout, pace was good about 3 and a half 4 hours (6:30 tee time), some damage to fairways in places but overall good
Great course, slow pace.
Great little course, pace of play was 5.25hr for 18holes and which was rough. All and all recommend.
“But the clubhouse is so cute” -my wife
We play a lot of golf within 40 miles of Denver, 2-3x a week. Always before 6:45am. The rounds are swift and everyone takes pace seriously, especially the marshals.
We tee’d off at the Raccoon Preserve @ 6:30a on a Thursday. By the time we were on the 7th hole(16th because they randomly send you off on the back, into the sun for 5 holes) we were waiting on every tee box. 2 groups deep on the par 3s. Marshals unbothered, and told us we’d be fine and in under 4 1/2 hours. 4.5?!!! Crazy long round for early morning on a week day.
Denver’s city courses do a much better job for 1/2 the greens fee. And any course with a similar or higher greens fee would find the pace inexcusable.
I enjoy writing positive review for positive experiences. Unfortunately, this wasn’t one of em. Should have turned around when I asked to try on a pair of shoes in the pro shop and the fella told me he didn’t no where they keep ‘em.
Wedding venue first golf course second.
