Nice layout with superior views of Lanai and Molakai. Greens were tricky and fairly quick (10); rough was fair, fairways fairly dry without a lot of roll. Plays longer than card distances. GPS system outstandiing! A very run, moderately difficult course that we will play every time we're on Maui at this price!
Kaanapali Kai golf course
Perfect last day in Hawai’i.
Played in under 4 hours
Greens under aeration
Apparently numerous courses aerate greens in September which is understandable, but not conducive to my dream vacation. The course itself had a great layout with nice ocean views, but good look trying to 1 put. Tee boxes and fairways were also aerated making for difficult lies throughout the round. The golf course did give a warning and a decent discount, but I expected more when still paying $100. I recommend avoiding this course until it heals up in a couple of weeks.
Better value at many other course in Maui.
The price was much higher than other courses we played. Greens had been sanded and small groves cut in green as part of sanding process making it near impossible to putt. Will not return.
My son and I played the Kai course today for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the round. First have to say the staff was very friendly from the pro shop down to the starter and attendants. The starter offered for us to tee off 30 minutes early since there was a gap. The clubhouse serves both courses and there is a good sized putting green (no practice bunker) and a driving range with mats that is adequate. The course itself was in great condition with shots in the generous fairways rewarded with great lies. The bunkers are maintained well overall with a few that were on the dry side. The greens were in terrific condition with challenging undulations. This course has incredible Maui scenic views of both mountains and ocean. We played at twilight which was a great value for the experience!
Good course. Lots of long holes and challenging shots. Would play again.
Rude staff at the driving range...redheaded male attendant needs basic training in customer service and communication.
Great layout great course great conditions except the greens had been punched. No mention of this and no discount for these conditions.
That’s not right!!!
A warning would be nice
Punched greens and extreme wind conditions made the round much less enjoyable than it could have been. Wind is a given in Maui but the greens were the unexpected surprise that made it a bad round. A warning about the greens would have been nice, especially at the rate they charge for a middle of the mill course.
Challenging course in the wind
Course was in reasonable shape. Some of the greens had numerous either grassless or "crabgrass" rough spots that made putting a challenge. Bunkers were well maintained.
First and last
Usually when you pay $120 for a round of golf you’d expect luxury and class. Didn’t get that. Being a resort course it was a pain watching the three guys with rentals trying to make 6” putts, they finally let my twosome pass when I nailed a 330 yard (with the wind and way downhill), they had no clue.
Passed them it was clear sailing. But ... the course needs some maintenance. Again, nice short course but there are a lot better for half the price. Done, know better now.
