Tamarack Golf Club
About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

Overgrown and over difficult
You will lose a lot of balls here if you are having an off day. The back 9 bunkers are really in bad shape.
Disappointed
There was no starter and no ranger to keep play going. Followed a group of 5 players. Several players on course didn’t follow golf etiquette. Very frustrating
Great golf. Bad sand traps.
Everything was great about this course, except the sand traps. Some hazards had over 1ft of standing water and weeds galore. The course overall is a nice course, but they need to pay attention to the hazards!
Tamarack
Course shape OK except Fairway bunkers. Played as ground under repair.
Poor course and poor course management
We tee'd off at 1124 with a scheduled time. Management said there was a "reverse shotgun" (never heard of it) going off at 1pm, but that it wouldn't effect us. Well low and behold at 1pm there were 2 groups on every hole. Completely ruined our round. They would only give us a reason check for 9. No clue why they would have even accepted our tee time with a 64 group outing going on.
Not to mention the greens were torn to shreds and the sand traps were dirt, Mud and goose poop. I will never be playing here again and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
Tamarack
I will never go back for 2 reasons ... pace of play was horrific ..virtually ever bunker more like hard packed dirt and rocks with all the fairway bunkers having weeds 6 inches high. ..I left after 14 holes.
Take a pass
I have never liked this course, but now they aren’t even trying anymore. It is deteriorating noticeably. Skip your next round at Tamarack.
Amazing Course
The course was in phenomenal shape. The greens were awesome.
Best Budget Course in the Naperville Area
Golf is expensive in this area and if you are looking for a relatively cheap and relaxed round, this is the place to do it. You don’t even need to make a tee time if you show up late mornings during the week. Course is in mostly good shape: tee boxes are beat up and some cart paths need improvement. Fun course layout with water or houses on every hole. Good length for all golfers, lots of scoring opportunities on this course.
Pace of play becomes a large issue on the back 9. I fly through the front in almost an hour and then always get backed up on the back.
Pace of play always slow
There’s rarely a starter or rangers so groups of friends combine into some times groups of 6-8. People spend more time fishing for random golf balls in the water than playing.
Beach more than ocean
Fun course for an average hitter. Though there's lots of it, the water doesn't seem to be in play from most of the forward 2 tees. The tips? Yeah., wet potential. Many greens are guarded by multiple bunkers so your approach shots will determine your score. A couple of crowned greens gave me the most trouble- Pace had to be exact or I'd roll as far past as I started
Everything was great except for the sand traps. Most were unplayable with rocks and very hard sand. Other than that course is beautiful with great narrow fairways with lots of water hazards throughout the course.
