Great Alternative to the resort courses
First, i only played the front nine, and i was playing with my grandsons, so review is positively biased by that experience (i don't live near them). Course is tree lined and front nine is fairly short from the whites. Good course length for this old guy. conditions were good, although greens were a little slower than I am used to putting. Front nine was very walkable and Cameron in the pro shop was great. Grandsons want to try out the motorcycle like golf carts next time.
All in all it could not have been a more pleasant experience.
Glad I played the course
Driving thru Coeur d' Alene on my way to Montana and had the urge to play golf. Stopped by the local public course, just off the freeway. I was paired with a local 3 some. Course was beyond what i expected. Full range, practice area, and clubhouse. I didn't have my clubs so i rented BRAND NEW CALLAWAYS. Course was in excellent shape, and the burger and beer after the round was perfect. Will definitely play it again when driving thru CDA.
Good condition, lots of trees
I have been playing this course for about 10 years, and it was about 4-5 years ago that they made a big change and their greens roll so pure now. Most of the holes are straight with the exception of a few holes, but the trees that border the fairway and rough is what really ends up punishing you. The only downfall I would say is that it is very busy around 10am onward and it can get backed up, but that is why I am an early morning golfer! It has to be the most popular public course in Coeur d'Alene.
OLDER Course BIG TREES
Wife and I Played 9 holes with a cart. Plenty of Rain lately. Course in Perfect Condition. Tricky Par 4's. Need Place your drives for open 2nd shots. Play with a local if possible. Large Trees line fairways. Not much water.
If you like OLD well care for courses you will enjoy this course. Pro Shop staff friendly and helpful.
Fun course
Played with a buddy as I was passing through. He never likes to play it cause it's always too busy. We walked on around 1:30 and got right on. Pro shop guy was super cool with it. And we never waited on any hole. Good conditions and a very nice course.
This was a slow course
I was only able to play the front 9 due to the time and how busy it was. The guy got me out right away and I was able to play as a single. It took 2 hours to play 9 as a single, it was so busy. Everywhere you looked there were so many people around you. I had 4 village idiots in front of me that refused to acknowledge that I was playing up behind them. That killed my round.
The course offers large greens and many trees. The homes on the front 9 could come into play if you spray it around. Favorite holes were 3 and 4. The front was very straight forward and easy, no real tricks out there. It would be nice to see pace of play enforced and water coolers on the course. Wish I could have played the whole track.
no surprises
Tried and True, venerable old course. Greens were plugged but did not impair overmuch and this time of year you expect it. Rumor has it course administration is changing.
Great Course
Had a great time on a lovely course. Haven't played it in a few years and forgot how nice the course was.
This is a good, well maintained course.
The facilities are very good . The course is extremely well taken care of.
Conditions are great
As usual the course is in wonderful shape. Slow pace as usual but a great course nonetheless.
Interesting playable course
Greens fairways and rough are in great condition, providing contrast to the tree lined borders. Even on a windy day the course design shelters you from getting blown around too much. Good course for walking as well, plenty of shade available on hot days, with a nice clubhouse. Astro turf and rubber tee driving range mats aren't always in the best shape, but the practice greens and chipping area allow for a full warm up before teeing off.
