Great course to call "home"
Eagle hills is about 3 miles from my house, so I wind up playing there quite a bit. When I started prepping for my 50 rounds in 50 days in 50 states trip the first thing I did was set up a 14 day "dry run," just to make sure my body was up to the challenge of playing every day. The staff at Eagle Hills was far more than accommodating while I tried to fit in those rounds around my work schedule.
Overall the course has a nice layout, easily managed from the white tees, but with enough distance and variety to challenge from the blues or blacks. there are enough hazards to keep you honest, including several holes with water in play. However I wouldn't say anything is overly punitive. The greens have a little pitch to them, but none of them will leave you scratching your head. Pretty much any ball on the green has a chance of being put in the hole without trying to read an enormous break or change of pace in the putt.
There are a few holes that can really be taken advantage of to improve your score, and others like #17 that will do a good job of keeping you honest.
When I started play the course was in very good condition, sine it started snowing mid-way though my round, things got a little tougher later on.
Overall, I enjoy playing Eagle Hills, calling it my home course, and I go there regularly for more than the convenience of it's location.
Nice Ciurse forum the Cost
Course in good condition. Challenging ti jeep ball on some Fairways sibcrme short cuts vmcan be narrow. Vack 9 considerably easier than front 9m
Fun course, overpriced
Not sure when Eagle Hills got on the bandwagon of high prices, but more power to them. They got my money. I’ve always liked Eagle Hills (played for over 25 years here) but it’s tough, as a long time Idaho resident to see these fees going up and up. I know the Cali-ites and Seattle-ites don’t have issues with these costs but it’s a little frustrating. Otherwise, great staff, highly improved 19th hole, and the course was in pretty good shape. Carts are in great shape and modern.
Return round
I was in Boise for a few days and played Eagle Hills GC late Monday morning and was fortunate enough to book a second round Tuesday early morning which was a pleasure; the experience was great, and I would recommend this course to friends and fellow golfers looking for a course that you will use most, if not all clubs in your bag; the staff members were very friendly and accommodating, and the course was in great shape; I got out behind ateo groups that I was able to get through on the 10th hole, and I was able to finish another round very quickly; I will definitely look to play Eagle Hills GC while in the Boise area in the future!
Loved this course!
We had a great day playing here! We got teed up with another couple and had a blast. They even invited me for a beer and dinner after our game.
The course had great fairways and greens and had some difficult and easier holes.
We will definitely come back to play:-)
Great course in great condition!
I'm traveling from LA.and I would say I'm pretty impressed with the condition of the course. The fairways felt like carpet...in a good way ;-) The greens in great shape too. The fairways is pretty wide and fairly easy to find. My wife and I got paired up with a very nice couple and we had a great day!
Enjoyable round
I had a great experience for my first round at Eagle Hills. Staff were accommodating and friendly, the course was in very good condition and I was lucky enough to play right after an outing, so the round took about 2 hours. Definitely would come back.
Great experience, fun round
I selected Eagle Hills GC based upon courses available while visiting Boise for a few days, and the esoteric was well worth the time and green fees; the Pro Shop staff member was very friendly and accommodating, and the course was was in great shape; the undulating fairways posed an interesting experience which I had to determine as I played individually; the fairways were tight and despite a few drives down the middle, my ball ended up in the rough due to the slopes fairways; the pace of play was slower than expected with a twosome in front of me, but that allowed me to consider my shots that resulted in a round under four hours anyhow; the fairways were tree lined and really added to the overall experience; I will definitely consider playing the course again on future visits to the area, but I will definitely play the blue tees hereafter because I hit my 3-wood, 5-wood, and even my 4-iron in several par 4 holes; I think this course would be great for all levels of golfers as long as they play the correct tees.
Great staff nice course
I’ve played this course several times and I’m always impressed with the staff there. They’re super nice, accommodating, and friendly. The course itself is well maintained and a nice challenge but not overly so. The carts are new and have built in GPS. My favorite course in Boise.
Slow play
Not very well organized to prevent slow play. The front nine holes are muni type, the back nine are very well maintained
Great find!
Well maintained. Challenging and forgiving at the same time. Greens will give you a challenge. New carts with gps.
