Highlands Golf Course

Always a fun time on a good course that never fails to challenge and delight.

We normally play this course several times a year. It is a good layout and used to always be in great shape. Unfortunately this year the conditions of the course have deteriorated a lot. Tee boxes are beat up and bare in places, the rough and some fairways are bone dry and hard despite a lot of rain this year and the asphalt cart paths are so bumpy you get jarred while driving on them. The traps are hugely inconsistent with rocks/pebbles and even mud in some, and weeds in others. Also the carts are getting very tired. Ours had no drink holders on one side (they were broken off) and we noticed others that were pretty beat up. Also you just about had to stand on the brakes to slow the cart down.

There are too many other good courses in the area to play on....until Highlands improves on its course maintenance we will be giving it a pass.

Nice golf course in a beautiful setting. All the diversity you could expect in a well designed golf course.

The course wasn't in very good conditions. The greens were fine but the fairways were in pretty poor shape with lots of dead or dying areas. As compared to other courses in the area, it was in pretty rough shape given the time of year. I've played this course 6-8 times and this was the worst I've seen it. I'd say pass unless you get a good deal on Golfnow.

Had a great golf experience!!! Love the course layout made for a good test of golf. Food in the grill was exceptional, great service! !!!

I have played on sand greens and that was not the issue. The issues were the plugs that were left to decompose right next to the greens. They should have hauled them away. The bunkers had grass growing in them. The fairways were high and the dandelions were everywhere. Nice layout, but terrible conditions.

While everything was pretty good, they rented me a cart straight out of winter storage that promptly ran out of battery. I walked the last 7 holes and only played nine as they had no additional carts.

I really enjoyed this golf course, stagf were wonderful and so helpful. The course is beautiful and the greens were perfect, every putt ran so true. I totally recommend it !

Very relaxed afternoon, yet played 18 holes in 4 hours. The course was in great condition.

They were being punched. Greens were great. We didn't"order any food or drink.

Staff was great. Course was in good shape, considering the hot summer we had. Pace of play was good.

The course is in good shape with very quick greens. There are many risk reward holes which make for a lot of fun. Down the middle long off the tee gives you a short iron to the green but any wayward shot will bring the woods in play and a bogey or worse guaranteed.
I would play this course again.

I like the fact that this is a pretty tight course on many of the holes, but trying to tee off on the tee boxes made it extremely difficult to have any confidence. The boxes were very uneven and had humps in many of them as well as having bare spots to tee from on even the long holes. Don't know if the maintenance folks are doing much to make it enjoyable. Even some of the bunkers should have been gravel pits instead because of all the rocks. Was looking forward to this round as I don't get to play the course much, but won't be looking forward to another one.

Front nine is different than the back nine. Greens in great shape. Enjoy playing course and will golf here again.
Great for average golfer and not boring.

There was a tournament earlier and we got off about 1/2 hour past our tee time. We waited the entire round. I've seen this course in better shape. Lots of dry spots and hard pan on the fairways. Several uphill holes that seem a mile long. Tough to get on in regulation, even with good shots.

A buddy and I got paired with another single. We had a great time. Friendly staff, good facilities, overall a fun course to play. Will play again in the future.

Played this course in July 2013 and 2014 and now this year too. The greens were rolling fine but the rest of the course is a mess. Bunkers are a joke, grass and weeds growing in them. Dry spots and dead grass everywhere. The tee boxes were a joke as well. No grass on some were uneven. I know it's a hot, dry, year but no excuse. Very disappointing because the previous two years it was in great shape. Golf shop staff was great and got us out early but I can't see myself playing there again unless the grounds crew makes big improvements.

Beautiful course with an exceptional staff. I really would go out of my way to play here vs playing closer to my home. Well worth the drive and money.

Would recommend this course. Visiting from California and play here whenever I'm in town.
