highlands course must play
This course is built in a very nice subdivision. Number 1 is a par 5 which gives you an extra shot to get your mind right. The front 9 is fairly forgiving if you stay in fairways. The back 9 has some huge pine trees, which will reach out & grab your ball. A lot of elevation change. Greens & fairways are in great shape. There are a lot of birdie holes. I hope to play it again.
Fun Course
The course is in the best condition it has been in years. Player culture needs to change though, Rake your trap marks and fix your ball marks on the green. Additional signs may help. Divots on the fairway can be avoided if they put sand on the carts every day. Again players need to use that sand.
The 19th hole is a treat. One of the best happy hours in the area and the staff is always upbeat and pleasant.
Course in fantastic condition
The course is in fabulous condition. Having a cart made it more fun and faster play!
difficult course
I liked the course besides the fact it was a difficult course for older women golfers
Highlands May 18th
Course is in great shape and the price is right. Come play a game.
Highlands
Very well compared to other courses in area and priced good
The course is in great shape
For early in season golf course was in great condition. Well kept and staff helpful.
Glad I didn't listen to others about this place
Leading up to the course people were telling me to skip this one because of a quirky layout and the course is going through some management problems. I stuck to my plans and decided to play it, and was glad that I did. This course was in great shape except for a few greens that suffered some ice damage from the winter but they were working on it.
The course was laid out a little weird. You would wind yourself through some homes by having to drive your cart on the street and drive right between houses to get to the next hole. Weird but that's all. Holes were tight together and you had to contend with homes too.
The greens were sloped and the fairways were rolling making it difficult. Good signage everywhere telling you what you needed to know. Pace of play was an issue I thought. I loved this course and can''t figure out why I was told to stay away, it had to be more than the quirkiness and mgmt issues?!?
missed out on this one
Enjoyes playing this course plenty 9th water and bunkers was in great shape for early year
Doug cox 5/2
Great course and friendly staff. Greens were recently punched. Be sure to understand the course layout before teeing off . Playing the course again today (5/3). Great course ! Thank you. Go cougs !
Great Value
For this early in the year I was amazed at how good of condition The course was in. My only complaint was the pace of play was slow. Wasn't able to get a full round in because we went out at 4.
Highlands: Great folks, great facility.
67 degrees, sunshine, and early seaon golf.... awesome. Highlands is in the best condition I've seen in the 4 years since my first game there (when I started golfing). Friendly, efficient, and professional staff in the clubhouse, restraunt/bar, and grounds. I was paired with two gents I had never met, but had a great time with them. All in all an awesome start to the season for me! I'll be back soon.
Great place to play
Low cost, well maintained, great practice facility. A great choice
never disappointed
A good value and great conditions. Course is preparing to close for season therefore kitchen was not open, usually very good.
We love this course
This is our go-to place to golf in North Idaho. Great course, pleasant staff and the best value.
I made attempt to fix divots, but no sand in container
I put one of my reviews in the review title. I fixed the divots as best I could considering I had no sand/seed mixture.
Aeration
Could only play one side of course twice, greens heavily sanded. Course normally very good condition but not worth playing right now.
Great Shape too Many Houses
Course was in great shape only complaint was on at least 1/3 of the holes there was lots of houses that were not in very forgivning locations off the tee.
If you are fairly confident in your drives I would recommend this course but it made me a little nervous.
Excellent course
Great, challenging course. Love the varying landscapes and narrow fairways surrounded by trees
Too many children
I love this course and play it quite often. However, on this Sunday it was over run with kids. The 6 some in front of was consisted of 2 kids about 10, a teenager and three adults. The two kids were playing out of the adults golf bags and riding on the rear bumper of the golf cart. My wife and I played with a single who had his wife as a observer and his 10 year old daughter. Nice couple and well behaved daughter but I do not go golfing to be entertained by a 10 year old chasing after lost golf balls wearing a childs blanket as a cape. Plus it was slow playing with waits on each hole. The course needs Marshals on the weekend. We played in 4 hrs. 30 mins. which is the course limit. But when you wait for each shot it makes the day long long long.
