Nice mature course. Good value.
The course was in great shape and the pace was good for a Saturday morning.
Great shape
Keep up the course in great shape. Golfnow offers a great value for spur of the moment golf
Always in good condition
Great staff, well maintained course. Greens are always soft enough to land on but a good pace and roll. The course layout can be challenging but rewards good shots.
Was Fun One Time Play!
This is a nice park district course, was disappointed it only has one woman's Tees and one set of men's tees. Is a short course with a lot of trees, But this course is in great shape. Is a mixed bad of driving and walkers here. I wanted to walk it, and had no trouble being 250 pounds. Not very terrain. Smart play here is use your 3 wood or 3 iron off the tee to par every hole. Staff is awesome here and very friendly And greens were in good shape here, and snack shop has nice selection making the turn here. Holed out with a disappointing 44- 38=82. I tried to hit driver on the front and found the tree gods. Hit the back and clubbed down and scored very well. Good beginner course. Not much for the above average golfer here. I heard a lot of trees like over 300 are coming down due to that Asian bug.
If you keep the ball in the fairway, you should score
The weather was great, the fairways were great and the greens were in good shape. Roughs were a bet long. Need to cut them shorter. Would speed up play. Wouldn't take as long to find your ball. All and all a great course
Beautiful trees
We had fun, friendly people. One issue it was a hot day and there was no service cart to purchase beverages.
Sorry to see Ash trees go
The course was in excellent shape. It is a very old and established course. Unfortunately the Ash trees have disease and 300 will be removed.
Really enjoyed the course and the staff.
nice course
very nice local park district course, good condition, some challenging holes, good bargain
Best brat I have ever had. Sand traps need sand
Great course but could use sand in sand traps. Green are very nice. Just an enjoyable course to play.
Good course
I would put this course in second place to Aldeen golf club. Remodel the club house and it's a hit!
Good City Course
I have played Sandy Hollow around 25 times, and it is a consistent course with good groundskeep and friendly staff. There are lots of trees that make you play creative shots on some holes. There is a couple challenging par 3s, but in general if your straight, you should score well here without being overly long.
Great course! Friendly staff.
Greens in excellent condition. pace of play was good.
This is a nice course.
I was disappointed when I booked on GolfNow that is did not state that I had to pay for the golf cart at the course until my reservation was booked. I still had to pay $30 at the course for the golf cart and with this additional cost, it made this offer not so great of a deal.
Par is 71 at this 18-hole tree lined fairway course
Opened in 1930 on the city's south side, this beautiful and challenging course is by far the most popular of the five Park District courses. Golf Digest rated this course three stars. Par is 71 at this 18-hole tree lined fairway course of 6,228 yards. Sandy Hollow is certified by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and placed first in the Public Space category of the 2002 City of Gardens Rockford in Bloom Awards.
