Sinnissippi Park Golf Club
About
Opened in 1912, Sinnissippi Park Golf Club is the Park District's oldest course and at 3,230 yards, it's also the shortest. In the century that it has occupied Rockford's east side, it has served as a great learning golf course for thousands of beginning golfers. This nine-hole course is conveniently located in the center of Sinnissippi Park, overlooking the Rock River. Towering mature trees pleasantly shade most of the golf course. At first glance the lack of water, sand, and length makes the course appear seemingly easy, but it would be a mistake to underestimate this layout. There are some surprisingly tough holes that can maddeningly turn pars into bogies and bogies into doubles. Most of the trouble is to the left, so hookers need to be extra cautious.

Condition of course.
The condition of the course is very rough.
I realize it's early in the year, however, I see no work going on to make it better. I feel it's to late to.
Course Configuration
Golf Now needs to fix the hole locations. Hole 4 is now hole 1 and the old 1,2,&3 holes are now holes 7,8&9.
Great course
I love this course. 9 holes of regulation length. 8 driver holes and 1 par 3. Good layout. Challenging but not too. Good value.
great golf
I love this course. Only 9 holes, but regulation length. 8 of the 9 holes are "driver" holes. Challenging but not overly so.
Course is in Great Shape
Two golfers for $17.00 with a cart. Cannot beat it!
Course and greens were in great shape. Staff courteous and friendly.
Great price and great pace
Wife and I played for $5.00 each with cart, staff was great, and we played at a pleasant pace!
If you're willing to walk, you're sure to get your exercise for the day!
Great Course
We were able to tee off before our designated time! People who followed us and who preceded us kept their pace in a timely fashion. Having the app for Golf Now is a very convenient way to schedule a time for so many great courses.
Great Park Course!
Can't beat this deal! I am a local experienced player and I love playing here! The price is always the same and you know what you're gonna get every time! A nice little 9 hole course with two Par 5s no water no bunkers and decent enough course maintanence. For what it is this is a great little course and enables many locals a have a quick 9 hole round at their finger tips. Play here early in the morning to avoid the slower golfers. Great place to have a warmup round before heading to an 18 hole course.
side note: great hot dogs! putting green should have actual holes instead of peg pins, pace of play is slower than average during the day (many seniors and beginners play here) evening rounds are great here, again appreciate it for what it is a small park course at a great value, keep it up Rockford Park District!!
Fun quick 9
Good little course for a quick 9. Nothing terribly challenging about the course. Good pace of play.
One comment is the address provided does not work in Google maps. It sent me miles off course and almost missed the tee time. Staff were courteous and gave better directions. Also were ready to accommodate my tardiness due to re directions issue.
Nice public course
I love this course - feels at home when we play here. Friendly staff - it is a great course to play with friends or with family.
Great course
Havent played his course in a couple years but will definitely be coming back. Love that its 9 holes but yet challenging and fun!
fun course
We are very fortunate to have so many great value driven courses around Rockford. Sinnissippi is one of them, and it's always in great shape.
R&D Golf
The course is always in pretty good shape. The pace of play for years has always been slow. 2 1/2+ hours is a standard for 9 holes here. No one seems to care much. Still a good place to play however. Rangers always friendly and cart water around for the players. Just never concerned about the pace of play. Which is consistent with ALL Rockford public golf courses.
