Pheasant Run Resort is one of the Chicago area's most respected resorts. It offers an 18-hole golf course that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. The course is short at just over 6,300 yards from the back tees, but it still provides a fair amount of challenges. The fairways are tight and there are water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The bunkering is minimal but strategically placed to keep you on your toes. The front of the greens are invitingly wide-open and beginners will also appreciate that they are mostly flat and easy to score on. The golf course starts out with a tricky par 5 that doglegs right past the 200-yard marker and there is a water hazard that crosses the fairway. The back nine is slightly longer and also more challenging.

Nice layout
Ridiculous slow play , no marshals, 10 holes 3 hours 15 minutes
Pheasant Run Golf Course
Had not played this course in several years, but basically enjoyed. Pace of play was good, but could use more sand in the bunkers (which I was in far too often). Will likely play here again.
Nice course to play
Was a nice course to play and a beautiful day to do it. Was pretty buggy early in morning. And lost so many balls that should have been found. Some bounced right off fairway but the rough just swallowed them up and couldn't locate them. Other than that being frustrating was well kept course as long as you keep it in the fairway.
Great course!
Great course, course conditions were excellent. Tricky greens make up for short (relatively) length. Great value for the money.
Nice Course
Course is well kept and layout is challenging. Great bargain for the price through golfnow.
Challenging course, but rude staff and expected more in the course conditions
Per usually I feel like staff concerns are the biggest thing for me, as I’m a 22 year old millennial golfing, as if it’s somehow rare to see. Staff friendliness was not at the top of their priority list as I was disrespected by the guy to send us off. That “we’ll have problems if I see anything funny out of you nad your friend.” Like as if we were going to trash the place (and no I don’t like to cause problems with anyone and play a fair respectable game and take care of divots I’d make). Other than the staff being rude the course was fun to play at as it gives a challenge in that the fairways has a lot of trees and gets really skinny. And the course conditions weren’t the greatest, but expected more out of a resort type course.
Love this track
So you know, I consider Phesant rum my home course. I usually get at least 10-15 rounds in a year there. It’s a challenging course with a par five to start with water in two places and a bit of a dogleg right.
I use their range regularly and find It to be a friendly, welcoming and fun experience. Weekend may be a bit slow but that “par” for the course almost anywhere. Get out there before 3 and you are good to go weekdays. If you haven’t been rher in awhile give it a shot. They take care of this course.
Excellent Service - Course Enjoyable
Being January, Pheasant Run was operating under winter conditions and rules. I was surprised when I received a call having just (somewhat earlier) booked a tee time on golf now. I wasn't available but was left a message explaining the winter rules (e.g. winter greens etc.) and noting that they just wanted me to be aware of this should that be something unexpected. Very pleasant message as was the counter service I received when I got checked in. Nothing like playing golf fully relaxed. I fully appreciated my time at the course
Outdated...
Nice course. Loud and noisy with highways and airport. Carts were torn and tattered. No carts off path...might have been due to rain. No food/beverage cart. It is a decent course...for a decent price tho.
Pheasant Run
Excellent online deal to play Pheasant Run. Course was in great shape and plays very long. Very helpful clubhouse staff with getting our foursome going. It wasn’t ideal weather so the pace of play didn’t come into factor, but overall experience was four star.
Pleasant afternoon
The course was in excellent condition for these dry times. It was nice to not lose a ball in the rough since the rough was so dry but fairways and greens were beautiful and green. Great time.
Nice course to play
Had a good round even though pace of play was slow on the back nine due to foursome hitting more than one ball each. I wish they were asked to move faster as it was pretty hot and the players behind them were waiting every hole after the 7th hole. Staff is very friendly which makes the round nice.
