Pheasant Run Resort is one of the Chicago area's most respected resorts. It offers an 18-hole golf course that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. The course is short at just over 6,300 yards from the back tees, but it still provides a fair amount of challenges. The fairways are tight and there are water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The bunkering is minimal but strategically placed to keep you on your toes. The front of the greens are invitingly wide-open and beginners will also appreciate that they are mostly flat and easy to score on. The golf course starts out with a tricky par 5 that doglegs right past the 200-yard marker and there is a water hazard that crosses the fairway. The back nine is slightly longer and also more challenging.

Enjoyed the round
Well maintained course. Starter let us go as a twosome which we enjoyed very much. Felt like most of the day we had the course to ourselves.
Need to update the course website. Would enjoy using the app GPS for yardage.
friendly staff and good greens
Bill greeted us and he helped to make our experience very positive---thanks Bill. The pace was perfect and the greens were in very good shape---especially with all the rain---will definitely recommend
Custimer Service
Dropped off my bag next to the carts nobody to be found. Should have just walked onto the course without paying. Went into clubhouse and the man behind the desk said go into the starter box for a scorecard. Where is the starter box? He walked out and lifted up this very dishoveld entrance stand to get me a card. Course was nice but on hole number 1 there were people who seemingly were pulling balls out of the water with some contraption. They did not get out of our way and were rude and noisy. The rest of the course was nice. Water on some holes halfway house closed and teenagers skipping holes to where they please. Go into clubhouse at the 9 and there is no food no bartender and they say they just have candy and to go to the restaurant to get food it may or may not be open they were not sure. This is the first time all year I have walked into a course with no bartender or even a sandwich/dog or anything on the whole course. Oh yes no cart girl/guy. I had high hopes hearing about this wonderful course. They were crushed by mediocrity at best.
Uninspired Design
The course is nicely kept, and the greens, while a bit slow, are in very good shape. However, I found this course to be an uninspired design, on an uninspiring patch of very flat land. Apart from maybe a long Par 3, I can't think of a single memorable hole. But with the greens kept as they are, I admit: Any missed putts were my fault.
Creative holes, well maintained; border of course not great
This course has some of the more creative holes in the area, especially on the interior. Many holes are funnel shaped from the tee. Narrow, tree lined fairways that widen as you move towards the green. The greens were in fantastic shape. There are three par 3s over 200 yards to add to the challenge. There are also short par 4s and par5s where game management is important. Now, the bad part. The part of the course that runs along the Dupage airport or roads is just ugly. It wouldn't take much to improve the look of the course. Replace the fence, add some trees. Additionally, there were five balls hit in our vicinity without a Fore being yelled. I guess this course attracts hackers with low rates. Pace wasn't great, sad we're used to slow play on the weekends. Never saw an on course marshall, so the course management doesn't care either.
Great Value
My regular foursome plays Pheasant Run frequently because we get some great prices on Golfnow. We have played there for as low as $16 for 18 holes with a cart and rarely pay more than $25. The greens are always in great shape and the course is not busy. Because it's a resort, there are lots of twosomes and singles so you have to let them play through which slows you down, but we usually play 18 holes in less than 4 hours.
What A Surpise
I always known of this course but assumed this was a small tight course hidden behind the Lodge. It turns out to be quite a gem. Beautifully landscaped, well maintained and staff that treated us like we were regulars. It is the best kept course I have played on this year by far! I will be back - soon. The others in my group agreed 100%.
Terrible course
Course took 5.5 hours to play very disappointed no Rangers out there to move gofers players take over a half hour for each hole never will I play there again tea boxes are burnt out greens are not manicure
One of my "Go-to" courses.
I always enjoy this course.
It's challenging but fair.
I have played here many, many times. So I've seen all kinds of conditions and paces of play.
Yesterday's round was atypical.
Pace was slow due to a particularly slow foursome ahead of us. Unfortunately, there was no martial to prod them along. The course was also very wet from the very, very wet spring we've been having. Several years ago the course would be unplayable from the rains. They have improved the drainage considerably.
All in all - not a disappointing day. It was a great time spent with friends and I would highly recommend Pheasant Run to anyone.
Great value
This course was in nice shape, and still a little wet from all the rain. Greens were good, and definitely a great value based on the price. Would play there again for sure.
Good Course ; Avoid Busy Days
Went on a Sunday... Hack City... Nice Course (Flat and Straight)... Overpriced @ $50 but apparently I was overcharged according to regulars ( $30 usually )
nice course for the money
golf course in very nice condition , greens fast and fairly sloping . reward for hitting fairways , lots of trees and longish rough .staff extremely friendly and helpful .
Traditional 80's resort course
This course is a nicely laid out traditional right handers course with many holes running clockwise around the perimeter. It was too early in the season to judge care of course, but there were a lot of beautiful huge mature trees lining fairways and traps were in decent early season condition. Greens were excellent for early season! I'll defintely play there again.
Parking was not accessible. Nobody was in club house. It clearly says green fees and cart included in the notes. They said golfnow rates don't come with a cart anyway. The flags weren't on the green, they were 50 yard short, so you wouldn't mess the greens up I guess? Putting through fairway grass was unpleasant an experience. No restroom open on course.
Can't putt. No carts.
