Enjoyable Round
First time playing at Indian Lakes. We played the Woodland & Island courses. The most difficult course is the Highland, which I wish we could have played. I thought the course was pretty well-kept and it had some decently challenging holes (although I wasn't on my best game). The GPS on the carts is always a nice touch. The spacing of groups on the course was also a plus. As of now, my only complaint with Indian Lakes is the price, which I feel is a little steep for what you get. My guess is that the public doesn't get the same prices that the resort guest are offered. Nonetheless, I would like to play here at least one more time before summer ends.
Great course
The course is in great shape considering all the rain we have gotten. Greens are fast and not much break to them.
Watch out for outings
I booked what it thought was a nice 12:12 pm tee time on a Friday. Then I got out on the course and found out we were behind an outing. (CBOE). The players were terrible and slow and the course was ridiculously backed up. We rotted behind them for 5.5 hours.
Rude starter and slow play
I wouldn't recommend this course. It's in good shape but there's others out there that are much better for the price. The starter is really rude and talks down to people. Was rude to the group ahead of us and then also to us. Asked if he knew the yardage of HOLE 1 and he said they have 27 holes and he's doesn't memorize them all. He's the starter! He should know the 1st hole at a minimum. They also put us behind an outing on the back nine and was at least 10 minutes of waiting for every group behind then for the last 7 holes. Just not a good experience overall.
excellent course - 27 holes
Great condition - good test of golf - lots of fairway traps to avoid - big genes in good condition
Wait time
Waited on every hole. Obviously they packed the course. Probably the worst experience I have had on a golf course in years. Restrooms on course were closed no extra port-a-potties. We have been playing there for years may have been my last time. As a resort course they should be ashamed of themselves.
Indian lake
Overall, course is OK, traps however are not the best condition. Not sure if its the rain and weather but traps are not taken care of. Some traps are dried and are hard as clay.
Nice Course
Fairways in great condition, greens were okay. Definitely a course to play if you are in the area. Island green was fun.
Good Day at Indian Lakes
Fairways are in great shape. Greens are OK, but were not sanded the last time they aerated them and some slight bumps remain. Greens had good pace and definitely not slow.
Enjoyed my round in under three hours. But it was a bit chilly and fewer golfers were out.
Resort Course With Three Nines
Good driving course.Grrens were aerated three weeks ago, still bumpy. Some traps need sand replaced. One hard driving hole on the woodlands course. One island green on the island nine.Fairways were firm.
Great challenging course for mid/high handicapper.
This was my second time playing this course. I really enjoy(ed) playing here. I am a mid-high handicapper and thought this course was a perfect challenge for my skill level.
The course is not overly difficult, but the sloping greens & large amounts of bunkers really made you think about each shot you took. The variation in yardage on each hole allowed me to use every club in my bag.
Pace of play was not extremely fast, but it wasn't too slow. You have to expect a little waiting on a Saturday and the nicest day of the year to date in regards to the weather.
My only gripe is that the greens happened to be aerated. It isn't the courses fault. They have to do what they have to do to keep the course nice.
This course also has three sets of 9 holes!
I recommend this course to anyone, especially mid-high handicappers. They have an amazing 18 hole replay deal for $20 that my friend and I took advantage of.
highland -island review
Pace was slow but course was in good condition.
Greens werel recently punched which was the only downside. No cart girl yesterday was a bummer.
THIS IS A GREAT COURSE
FAIRWAYS ARE IN GREAT SHAPE. HOWEVER, THE GREEN HAVE NOT RECOVERED FROM FALL AERATION IN TIME AS THE WEATHER WARMS UP GREENS WILL IMPROVE.
One of my favorite courses
My wife and I usually play together but she was unable to go. So I went solo.
The greens for this time of the season were very good and by late Spring will be excellent.
The course has some challenging holes and as well as come back holes. This is just a very good lay out and always enjoy playing here,
The staff is very friendly and Mike Bielecki does an outstanding job.
Thanks for a nice afternoon of golf. Will be back again soon.
Getting the kinks out
The Island course had no rakes in any of the bunkers..the sand was not turned over...The Highland had rakes...both courses had aerated greens...never a good thing. I have played here before under better conditions...I will play again when the course is in full swing
Punched greens
It was not clear when booking the tee time that all of the greens had just been aerated and it took away from the experience.
Great Round in 41 deg. Weather!!
Grabbed a great deal from Golf now, dressed for he cold (brrr) 41 deg. day and headed out to make the best of it. Course played senior friendly and the staff is very courteous. Most holes, driver + FWW got your green in regulation. Putting over the aerations was truer that expected. Eager to see how it plays when it greens up!
Great course
For an early round just after the snow melted this was a great course, I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to playing this summer
Bad staff.
The golf shop staff is very unfriendly and rude. He is very unkind.
Thank you very much for your review of our beautiful golf course and resort. We take pride in the course conditions and hope you see the value in playing here. We do offer different special pricing at different parts of the day so check back often for a variety of times and pricing.
