Blackberry Oaks Golf Club
About
Blackberry Oaks in Bristol is a public golf course that has been recognized as one of the Chicagoland area's best courses. The course design utilizes the natural beauty and hazards of the landscape including the native wetlands, grassy prairies, and towering stands of mature oaks. Blackberry Creek also meanders through the course. In addition to the natural hazards, a heavy smattering of strategically placed bunkers was also incorporated into the design. Although it can seem intimidating, the golf course isn't overly formidable if you can manage to stay out of the sand and water. The third and 12th holes are two par 4s that are memorable for their water hazards. The third has a lake along either side and the 12th has a green that is almost entirely surrounded by water.

Great course
Good condition on the course greens were in great shape staff was very friendly and welcoming
first time play on this course
course was in excellent condition considering it bwas April 16th . Weather this day was light rain, sleet at times , and strong winds . there were only 6 other golfers that day and it was walking only so we played very fast . course is maintained very well and greens were rolled and played very fast considering wet and cold . liked the layout of the course with lots of sand traps , bunkers , and water to navigate through. will definitely play this course later in the year when weather is more golfer friendly .
Great Course
First time playing Blackberry Oaks and was not disappointed one bit. Course was in great condition, all the staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant was great too. Definitely will be back.
Prepare to wait
The worst pace of play I’ve ever experienced. Tee times don’t matter, they let anybody go out on the course regardless. Overall, it took me 2 and a half hours to play 9 holes, so I left without finishing my 18. Don’t recommend.
Considering the recent heavy rain the course overall seemed to drain well and the greens were relatively quick. It’s a fair course for those not accurate off the tee, but some holes require precision. The bunkers need maintenance as there was standing water, mud and small stones with little sand in many of them. It’s a short course with a nice layout and challenging enough for most middle to high handicap players.
Awesome place
I usually shoot around 100 so I'm not the best but this course has great holes for beginners and pros alike, the best hole is the 18th in my opinion. Great place to golf and very friendly staff.
Abismal Service Great Golf
Course staff is not very welcoming, pace of play is horrible considering they pair up walking and riding groups. Greens were well kept and course was fun to play.
Why?
Why oh why can’t courses share when they do the aeration?
